    wow this phone is old

    donut 1.6 -> eclair 2.1

  • +2

unfortunately this phone is also ridiculously outdated (it's about 5 years old i think). its specs would not be on par with phones around this price bracket nowadays. functionality is more important than style!

Getting a bit ahead of yourself buddy..

      Status Available. Released 2010, June

My oath. Pity the poor bugger that bought it back then.

  • where did they dust these off from.

    • +2

From the last few deals it sounds like jb is clearing out their warehouse and found a pallet of old phones they forgot to sell. Could be useful as a cheap gps/music player?
EDIT: 2.55" screen, maybe not so useful as a gps.

Lol, next they'll be bringing out Ericsson T28s…

      • Now those would be antiques!

      • +1

        That was my first phone!

That was the invention of all those dodgy cheap crappy cases.

      • screw that, try a T-10, or my first phone - NEC Sportz. It's so old even the internet knows little about it.

      • I owned this one! Loved it!

      • I still have a working order GA628.
And yes, I have T28 and T39, too.

  • its so adorable!

  • +1

    lol 128mb ram

    • Damn…didn't realise it only had that much RAM

    • +2

      No… 128mb storage, 256mb ram.

at this rate, it's only worth $20 i think.

    You can buy 2x Huawei Y201's from coles with $79. ($39 + $39)

Y201= Faster processor, bigger screen, more internal memory, more RAM, less prone to force closes, more apps/games supported

    • Network locked as well?

      • Networked locked of course, but it costs a measly $5 to unlock it using a purchased code.

    • 100% agree, the X10 mini pro is a resistive screen and the battery life was short too

      • it has a capacitive screen

        • Thanks for the correction, I thought it was resistive because it was very slow on the screen response.

        • it's probably because of the processor and amount of RAM! :)

  • i think this has a 600 MHz processor…

  • Got one of these at home, very crappy phone. But if the missus or I lose ours, it's gonna be the backup. It is possible to get 2.2 running on it but not worth the effort IMHO. The Nokia was a better deal

  • Wildfire s is $20 more but 3 years "younger"

these are good phones only for their keyboard and cute looks. Touchscreen is a plus!

    • +3

Touch screen, it struggles to fit a thumb on its screen

  • My niece had one and loved it, especially because of the keyboard.
Of course, she has an iPhone now. Time marches on.
I remember paying $220 for a T28 and that was a jaw dropping price. I wish that cars and motorcycles were like that!

  • Technology nowadays upgrade and change rapidly… It was less than 10 years time from B/W Screen to Colour, Camera, Etc. Etc.

I still remembered my B/W Nokia bought in 2003, and nowadays changing every weeks. The Samsung GS3 or other Android phone get outdated less than 1 year… price dropping from $600 to $360 within few months!

No one will think about a Computer cpu inside a phone 10 years ago, and from Single Core to Dual Core to Quad Core, and 8 Core in the GS4

I still remember my Nokia 3315 with b/w screen and i did not have enough money at that time to buy color screen phone.

      • My wife decided to buy a car because it had a charger fitted and it was for Nokia 5110. I still had that phone until recently. Gee how time flies.

      • That was my first phone as well… it was indestructible and was passed down several times before the battery have put after 6(?) Years

  • Looks cute but is of dinosaur era and not Google play supported I suspected, unless rooted. Would grab it if it was the Xperia Mini Pro i.e. the next version of this fone but bigger screen but still only 512MB internal memory yet easily beats this tiny 128MB LOL, considering 2GB is the new gold standard.

  • the xperia mini pro 2 was good, got it for $50 mint condition on gumtree as a backup and had ICS on it.

Dont know who would be buying these old @ss android phones.

God Sony phones are as ugly as sin. Device and UI.

    • i love the new sny phones. I love the UI and the design is great

      • -2

        Just as horrible.

i would recommend the coles huawei ascend models~!
    cheaper and bettter specs

  • maann! i've been looking for the second model of this phone (sk17i) at a reasonable price for ages! its always 160+ on ebay :( really overpriced considering its age and that you can get, say, a sony xperia u for just 20 bucks more. life.
