Sorry for the dumb question, but what does OTG (or On The Go) mean, in the context of these cables?
In short it turns your slave into a host. Mainly used for smart phones/tablets
e.g. Normally when you plug your smart phone (Slave) into your PC (Host) you can read the contents of your smart phone on your PC. These things will make your smart phone act like a host so you can plug portable hard drives/keyboards/mice etc into your smart phone.
This is very basic and there are heaps of things you can do if you are inclined.

If your phone is rooted and using the Franco kernel, you may be able to get USB OTG to work on the Nexus 4!

This is no simple app install - root is required, as well as modifying your phone's software. No hardware modifications to the phone itself are needed, but you will need a special cable, which can be purchased or built at home. Ready to jump in? Hit the break for the complete guide.*
To solve the hardware problem, you'll need a special cable. I chose to purchase an OTG Y-Cable. If you have the tools and extra parts, you could also build your own. Whichever you choose, make sure your cable has a male micro-USB and female micro-USB leading into a female USB as pictured above. The portion of the cable that data is transferred through is the male micro-USB to female USB, with the female micro-USB supplying the extra juice.

try with a powered external HDD. my Nexus 7 won't recognize an unpowered one but no problems with a USB or powered HDD

As a bit of feedback rep, please look towards having some sort of encryption when requesting personal information from potential customers.
He has an easy option to implement it using the ecommerce system in use, literally a tick of a box in the admin panel, but there obviously needs to be the ssl configuration setup.

Found a bug with your site - It doesn't allow email addresses that have plus symbols (+) in them, and says they're invalid. These are definitely valid in email addresses.
I am assuming your trying to use the gmail feature. Hence the invalid email error.

Yes, however, it's still a valid email address. I could set up my own email server that uses a plus in the email address. In fact, while a lot of email providers arbitrarily restrict email addresses, but most characters are actually valid, even spaces (as long as you have quotation marks around the full string).

Well it does say out of stock in the title in large black letters with a red background. So I think the $1.49 batch is out of stock.
