Hi all,

Hope you all have been well.

Allphones eBay has some great offerings across the budget Nokia and Motorola range, which all packs pretty good hardware for the price. Especially a highlight for the Nokia 7.2 at $325 (RRP $499) which features great all round specs and Android One which I know many Ozbargainers like. Please apply coupon code PTETE15 at checkout to reach the final price.

Please also feel free to check out our other running deals:

As usual, 100% AU stock, GST tax invoice with ABN, local Australia Manufacturers warranty.

Thank you!

  • Very nice prices for some fairly decent 4G phones.

Interested in the G9 Plus. Does anyone know if OW will beat eBay prices by 10%?

    • Give it a try and let us know.

    • No, they will not price beat coupon price.

    • Not available at any OW near East Melbourne

Just letting you guys know Nokia 7.2 is buggy.

    • +1

      In what way?

      • Sometime Camera does not record sound and you have to reboot. Occasionally incoming call has just ringing sound noting in display. It's android one but software experience is laggy.

        • All of them or just the one you have?

    • +3

You need to play more snake to get rid of the bugs.

    • +1

All phones have bugs. I have been using a Nokia 7.2 for six months and a couple of times it has rebooted, but nothing worse that other phones I've had. The regular updates are appreciated and I'm looking forward to Android 11 although a little peeved I have to wait until the new year.

Can you be more specific on the bugs?

      • +1

a little peeved I have to wait until the new year.

About 40 days? You'll be fine mate.

  • G9 Play doesn't list the wireless ear bud as included in the box, but it is $50 cheaper than every other place.

JB will have it as $239 in a few days.

      • They will ?

        Nice.

  • Opinions on Nokia 7.2 or G9 Plus against the poco X3 NFC?

    • +2

You gain local warranty and cleaner Android compared to Poco X3 NFC, but the Poco X3 has better hardware. I will ignore the Nokia 7.2 as it has outdated specs, the G9 Plus is much closer to Poco X3 with SD 720 & SD 730 are essentially the same but SD 720 is an overclocked SD 730 (CPU and GPU are the same just clocked higher). The screen lacks 120Hz but you get better battery life because it's not 120Hz, RAM and storage seems to be the same. I would get Moto simply because it has Australian warranty and cleaner Android where you don't have to go and turn off ads.

On the other hand, Moto isn't as good as Xiaomi in terms of update. I will bet that the Poco X3 will be supported longer. Motorola dared to try 1 year support on their high end Edge model and they get so much flak they had to reverse the decision.

I would avoid Nokia 7.2 unless you want Android One. Spend a little more for Pixel 4a if you absolutely must have Android One. As Nokia expand their product range, their support has become meh lately. I don't think any Nokia phones has Android 11 yet while Xiaomi already have some updated to Android 11 stable. Even current Nokia flagship 8.3 5G is stuck at Android 10.

I would avoid Nokia 7.2 unless you want Android One.

Personally I exclude any phone that isn't Android One.

        • If you want Android One, Pixel 4a, 4a 5G and 5 are really hard for Nokia to compete unless you go real cheap. Unlike Nokia they actually get 3 years of prompt updates. Nokia has been really lacking in term of OS update and they offer 2 years of OS anyway.

For example Nokia 8.3 launched with Android 10 and will finished at Android 12. My Pixel 5 launched with Android 11 only a month or two later, and will get Android 14. That's a big gap.

      • Do you happen to know what's the camera like in G9 Plus?

        • It's mediocre but that's what GCam port is for.

  • Yes I'd like to hear that.

  • My Nokia 3 experience, just for reference.

USB port module need replacing every 2 months (no idea why). Even with it replaced, I can't use the data side of USB.

It screeches at full volume sometimes when you unlock and connected to wifi.

Sometimes does random restarts and on startup the Nokia jingle is full volume, and there is nothing you can do about it.

The volume buttons adjust the media volume by default (not ringtone volume). So if you want to quickly put your phone on silent, you need to go all the way into settings.

The plastic covering the camera lense has opaque spots, so photos are poor.

In terms of functioning, almost 2 years and other than not being able to use it as a USB storage device, its been ok. Websites such as surfstich, Bunnings and SCA are slow/ basically unusable on it. Not sure what causes that?

It's still within warranty, but haven't seen another cheapy phone with NFC as a replacement.

I can't get the code to work with the G9 Plus.

This code can't be applied to your order.

    • +2

      Yep, same for me.

      • +1

Hi OP the code doesnt work

    • Just found out it for eBay Plus members only and I’ve used up my free trial. :(

      • That can't be it. I have Plus.

Also, even on another account without Plus, the code can be successfully applied to all the other phones listed in this deal.

It's only the G9 Plus which won't accept it.

        • Ooo interesting. Anyways it was the Allphones eBay store that replied to me they said to contact them if you still have issues. Good luck. I just gonna have to wait
