      The 7A is still a really good phone even now. The specs of the Motorola device aren't overall that powerful compared to an S24+ for around $1025, but the gift card and headphones are still a good bonus. Even the standard S24 will be generally more powerful than the Motorola for the same price, when the gift card is taken out of the question.

        The 7A is an average phone with good software. The screen is a particularly weak point on it along with battery (highlighted further by the woeful charging). Given all the thermal issues with modern phones people need to think beyond the specs to what they need. I don't game on my phone so any midrange processor is fine. This has a better screen, ram, storage, battery and charging and camera may well go close certainly hardware wise.

    After using the G54 for two weeks and previously using the pixel 8 pro it's safe to say, for my needs, I don't have to spend 1k+ on a phone anymore. The only thing I miss is the top notch camera

    Get the new midrange Pura 70 ultra, the camera is said to poop over the S24u.

      First of all the Pura 70 Ultra is not a midrange device. Cheapest I found for that device was $1693 not including tax from Aliexpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006883598556.html?spm=a2… The S24 Ultra can be purchased for $1400 which is significantly cheaper than the Pura 70 Ultra and has local warranty at the cost of slightly worse everything.

        hmm it's now on sale 30% off for $1104. I never heard of this phone before but I'd still buy an S24 ultra over this.

                @NotReallyaMoneySaver: Hang on it's cos I was looking in USD! I've recently started using firefox cos chrome kept hanging but for some reason I can't log into aliexpress with firefox, the captcha won't let me slide it across.

        First I think they call it midrange compared to Apple's pricing.
        Currently there is a flood of youtubes showcasing its camera. Personally I bought the Iphone as a show off and compatibility.
        Chinese phones do drop faster in value.
        Just an option is photography matters most.

    Ok deal but Motorola software has a lot to be desired.

    Have the Motorola Edge 40 and the choppiness, and UI elements overlapping on each other in Chrome and YouTube is disastrous. Struggles to hit 120fps in the UI a lot of the time too. Shutter lag on camera horrendous. Plenty of others reporting the same on Reddit.

    Hopefully android 14 fixes it, but at the moment it's reminding me a lot of when xiaomi had issues with MIUI a few years back.
