It should. I couldn't imagine a tv lacking mpeg4 support these days. My 6 year old kogan tv receives mpeg4 channels no worries.

My tablet stopped charging today. With the charger plugged in and the battery flat, the screen remains powered on but is totally white.

Try inserting a 32bit uefi into a 64bit version of ubuntu or other flavour of linux and see if that intalls.
