Was going to take a trip to Brisbane CBD Myer TM Lewin and pay $90-100 a shirt. Thank you!

  • anyone know what type of fit their slim fits are like? great deal btw

    • +2

Not very slim to be honest. Would recommend their fully fitted/john francombe shirts for a slim fit.

Else size down on the regular slim fit.

Best bet would be to go to Myer's / TM Lewin Store and try on shirts for sizing then buy online.

Quality is very good for the price.

Source: I have 5-6 slim fit, 4 john francombe shirts

      • impulse555, so you're saying the fully fitted john francombe ones fit well slim?
I always thought fully fitted meant a classic fit, e.g., regular fit, e.g., wider around the middle?

        • +2

          it's the opposite for t.m lewin, fully-fitted = slimmest

        • Cheers, fifafan94.
I realised this after looking at the fit guide, posted by Holysmoke, as well.

    • +1

Different fits detailed here and actual measurements are here

  • Do you have to buy 4 in order to get $40 per shirt/tie?

    • no. apply the code in the checkout and it will make a single shirt $40. Be aware though that if you spend less than $120 you will pay $10 in shipping.

      • +1

        Read title again re postage.

  • I think the biggest feature of slim fit is that it slims down to waist to create a "V" shape look from behind

  • How do their casual shirts compare to Ctshirts?.

    • +2

Tmlewin's fit and look is superior to CT. That said, CT has better patterns than TM.

      • yeah just looked through the styles and the patterns are mainly quite bad.

  • Know when this expires?

    • +1

OP posted in title that deal expires in 2 weeks.

      • Clearly I do not read, haha.
Thanks mate. This gives me time for my pay to come in!

        • just be careful - the sizes will disappear before then….

  • My bad - should have posted this last week … just ended last weekend was a 20% off EVERYTHING .. but with shipping charge.

Bought $500+ worth of shirts 12 pcs plus cufflinks …

    • You meant this deal is better?

Hmm can buy shirts buy i really dont need more tie.

      And shortening sleeve cost $15!

      • Last week deal was better but I did not manage to post it as I found out on Sun itself (last day)… e.g 4 shirts for $160 … and less another 20% … and thats $32 off compared to free shipping $25 discount.

    • In the event that you are looking for cufflinks, I have found good deals at thecuffshop.com.au. Right now; they are doing 7 pairs for $100. This sort of deal comes up very regularly. Have seen them doing 10 for $100 at various times too.

Cuffshop also runs a daily special email list www.cuffdeals.com.au, where they offer up 200 pairs of a single type at $7 each.

      • i never get how cufflinks are priced. they just worth $5 max, unless made from real silver platinum or gold or diamond.

        • Can't agree more. Shops will continue to sell them if people keep buying at whatever price they're at.

  • how do these sizing work? i usually wear an XS in roger david. What does this convert into?

    • Go for 14.5" collar. Unless your arms a quite long, probably 33" sleeve. There is a sizing diagram you can go off on their website too.

  • why is it that the fully fitted have a smaller chest measurement than the slim fit.
My chest is 95cm so even the smallest size would not fit me.

  • would have bought 3 shirts, but they all have pockets. On casual shirts. silly.

    • Where would you put a pocket if not on a casual shirt?

  • Has anyone tried their non iron shirts? Are they really non iron?

    • +2

I have about 12 of them. Yes, they are really non iron. Just make sure you don't leave them scrunched up when you wash them.

  • +1

I agree. Size 39 shirt has a chest of 118cm. This seems wrong.
Did a search online the standard chest size for 39 collar is 104cm.

    The measurement seems dodgy

Just to share, I buy all my shirts from Gap or Old Navy from their U.S. site. Their new line of slim fit non-iron shirts are awesome. If you sign up for their newsletter, they pretty much have 25%-30% off almost every week, so you can get them as cheap as $25 (for old navy). Shipping of course is a tad expensive from the U.S. The Gap slim fits fit a size smaller and Old Navy ones are true to size. If you go Banana Republic they are true to size as well.

The non-iron shirts are awesome if you wash your shirts yourself. Cold wash in the washer and hang dry, no ironing needed. No toxic chemicals from dry cleaning. Especially good for people with sensitive skin as you'll be able to use your own detergent for self wash.

    • By "The Gap slim fits fit a size smaller", do you mean that the shirt is 1 size too large (ie. If you are a 40 collar, you buy a 39 collar from GAP to fit right)?

Also, do you let their websites convert the cost (AUD currency and region) or do you buy everything in US and then let your card do the converting (as a lot of international sites have dodgy conversion/different pricing in AUD)?

    • Are these business or casual shirts?

  • +3

The TML non-iron shirts are a great price as they also qualify @ $40 each (as these are normally more pricey than the non non-iron shirts), whereas the non non-iron shirts can normally be gotten in multi-buy at 4 for $160 (albeit + shipping).

I've tried shirts from CT, H&C and TML, and to me TML is the best combination of price, cut and quality, and ever since going non-iron for the last year, I haven't looked back (or at an iron).

    thanks ozbargain.

Guys, use the code "FIRST" for an extra 10% off. It can be used in conjunction with TMLOT1

    • +1

… fml. any way to cancel and re-order?

Edit: Too late, already being processed at the warehouse.

  • yeap fml just ordered as well… hope i got the size right.

  • bought after trying the size at tmlewin store at sydney cbd.
too bad we cant do exchange or return to that store.
    funny

    • I called their store on King St (1 block away from Myer) to see if they had women's clothing so I could go in and try on for sizes. I think they said they take either exchanges or do refunds in store—you might wanna call for yourself as I stopped paying attention when they said they only deal with men's clothing only.

      • sure? for online purchases? wow thats good. the tmlewin website has return to UK policy

  • The size chart suggest the chest measurement is 118 cm.

This appears to be significantly larger than a standard 39 collar shirt I have.

Would anyone share any experience with tmllewin 39 collar?

How does the 39 collar fit in relation to chest?

    Thanks in advance

  • Bought 4 shirts at $36 a pop. Tried them on in Myers to get my size, very happy!.

I didn't like the slim cut at all but the fully fitted looked fantastic. Slightly disappointing the slim cut wasnt my favourite as I really wanted the non-iron range (and the john francombe ones didnt seem to come in that fabric).

Does anyone know how long they take to arrive? Im assuming they are shipped from the UK. I ordered yesterday afternoon and they were dispatched in the wee hours of this morning.

p.s Ignore the chest sizes in their sizing guide. Im normally a 38-39" chest and the size guide on the site suggests the chest on the shirt that fit best was 44.5.

Thanks OP bought 5 non-iron shirts @ $36 each. I'd been waiting to grab some more non-iron shirts. I've had 5 for over 12 months now and they're great. Usually they're fine straight off the line, but if they're ever a bit creased a quick 5 minute spin in the tumble dryer sorts them out.

I'm a skinnier guy so the slim-fit are slightly bigger across the chest, but I'm prepared to trade that off for the benefits of non-iron. Geez I hate ironing.

Hey TM Lewin - how about some non-irons in the fully-fitted range? Go on!

    Thanks again OP

  • Does the promotion work in store?

  • Anyone know when this Code expires? I bought some Fully fitted Shirts from the TM Lewin Store and they're pretty decent and they fit really well. The Van Husseuns don't fit anywhere near as well.

  • Anyone know why one tie doesn't get the code applied? Prince's Trust Navy Silk Tie still comes up at $55 with TMLOT1. Everything else I order (3 extra ties and a shirt) are $36 after TMLOT1 and FIRST codes.

    Weird

    • Prince's Trust ties are excluded…

  • +2

Ordered first day. Haven't received it yet.

    • Same here

    • Same also

      • Arrived today!

        • Awesome, I contacted Tmlewin yesterday and confirmed the package was in Oz. Hopefully mine will be there when I get home!

    • Same.

    • ditto…

i'm still also waiting for my shirtpunch dexter t-shirt :(

      • received mine today with SPRING16 code - $16 off when spend $120+, expires 31st may

  • all sydney ozbargainers, i think you will receive yours today.
    i got mine

  • It has been 12 days since the confirmation of dispatch email received in my inbox.

But still no sign of my order.

    This is getting very frustrating.

  • Looks like the code is still valid (TMLOT1 + FIRST) - cheap shirts!!

    • SPRING16 is better than FIRST if spending $120-$160 :)

  • I am waiting on some shirts for a wedding (this sat), which shipped on the 30/4. Can anyone hazard a guess as to whether they might be here by Friday? Also, what courier do they use in Aus.

    Cheers for any help,

    • Don't think you will get them by Saturday. My order was sent on the 23/4 and i received them today, which is 2 weeks and 1 day. You will most likely receive your order by Wednesday next week, orders from UK usually take 2+ weeks for delivery when sent by Royal Mail. I suggust you go to Myer and buy a shirt there than return it after the wedding.

      • Thanks for that reply,
Who was the courier they used?

        • Just checked the box and it turns out it was sent from Sweden?. The local Auspost courier dropped them off at my doorstep without requiring a signature.

  • When I try to use the TMLOT1 code it says that the code "cannot be added to your bag", however the FIRST code still works. Has this deal expired? Any other similar codes available for TM Lewin?

      • Yes the SPRING16 code works as an alternative to FIRST when spending $120-160, but TMLOT1 was what made this such a good deal - all shirts for $40.

        • If you're interested in ctshirts this link will make them just 19.95 pounds each plus you get a free tie http://www.ctshirts.co.uk/default.aspx?q=nick|||||||||||||||
