Entry Level Road Bike

Hey All,

I've been looking for entry level road bike to take onto the cooks river bike path. Read up on some bikes and the Giant Defy 1 really appeals to me. Saw a post awhile back http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89393.

Wondering if any of you know where I can pick up another bargain like that again.
Or whether there is another similar bike around the $1k mark.
