It's a great price for first party Nintendo games, they're normally over $50.

I have been looking high and low for Galaxy 2 to get a substantial price drop, Man Nintendo first party games sure hold value for a long time.

    • most of the first party wii games are still around $70 at most stores even though the console has been superseded :(

Partly a testament to backward compatibility of the Wii U.

Look at JB in their 2 for $40 section and most of the PS3/360 games are good. The Wii games aren't fit to be used as coasters.

    1. Buy
    2. Sell on eBay
    3. Profit! … maybe
    • It's ebay! :D I'm sure you would. :)

      • +1

Especially if you sell the box separately!

        • hahahahahahahhahahaha that cracked me up…. nice one

  • Thanks… been chasing Mario Party 9 for ages.

  • I've not played my Wii in a long time, but back when these games released I spend countless hours playing them! I highly recommend both, although the first Super Mario Galaxy was superior in my opinion (more difficult challenge levels, felt like a breakthrough for platformers at the time, less unnecessary tutorials in levels)

Most of these will end up on ebay at double the price, which is sad.

They are great games, but way overpriced considering they usually cost more than new PS3 and Xbox 360 games.

  • In comparison to the prices I paid:
Super Mario Galaxy 2 for $50
    Mario Kart Wii for $90
    Mario Party 9 for $48
    (haven't got DK Country Returns)

Perhaps I should have waited…well anyway, I'm thumbing this up; they're pretty decent games.

  • Are Wii games from The Good Guys sealed?

I know that Dick Smith pre open them before selling them [_]

    • +1

My opinion is they don't, because when my Skyward Sword got delivered, the manual and soundtrack list had been bended (not creased, but they weren't flat).

      • Was the disc scratched?

      • +1

Both my skyward and re bought from tgg were sealed i.e. 100% new but the case of re was broken thx to the Auspost i guess.

For those wiiu owners that need a wiimote, cash converters dropped wii's to 45, get a free wii with your remote.

  • Been waiting for Galaxy 2 to drop price for ages!
Hopefully they will not cancel my order like they did for Skyward!

  • Cheers. Been waiting for Super Mario Galaxy 2 to drop to a reasonable price. Nintendo sure know how to milk it.

Never used the Good Guys for delivery. That will be changing very soon.

    • What do you mean Nintendo sure know how to milk it? There are only 2 Mario Galaxy games. MG and MG2.

      • The context of my message was the price. Nintendo milks these old games by keeping the price high.

Then again, Nintendo also know how to milk franchises. Mario being the premier example. Mind you, the milk tastes fresh and delicious. They may be milking it, but at least they're not doling out low-fat crap.

Two of the greatest games ever on Wii. Pity I haven't touched my wii in 2 years!

    • +1

don't forget super smash bros :)

  • Does anyone know how long delivery usually takes?

  • Good price considering Nintendo Wii games are overpriced to begin with. They never seem to budge much from their launch price. Look at Zelda Skyward sword. Still $98 from ebgames. What a joke.

    • +8

      The joke is eb games..

ive always wanted to try this, though at $19 its still meh

  • Excellent…picked up New Super Mario Bros DS & Galaxy 2

  • Great pricing, ordered Mario party 9.

  • After umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether I would play the game often, I took the leap and grabbed Galaxy 2. Cheers OP!

  • unlucky…missed out! But good find tho! Soldout online.

  • did anyone actually get their order? i just received an email from a good guys store in south australia (i'm in NSW, WTF!?) saying they have the game i ordered (mario galaxy 2) but not in the original case… so i'm probably going to cancel as it just isn't worth it in my opinion… unless they'll discount it further however…

    • What day/time did you place your order?

The status on my order currently says that it's being back ordered.

  • I managed to buy 2 for wii and 2 for the ds. My orders are coming from good guys shops all over the show. I'm in Melbourne VIC. One order went to Penrith NSW and one to Mildura VIC. Penrith called to say they couldn't fulfil part of the order as it was out of stock everywhere (a ds case) but they did have the other 2 games (at that point, still waiting for delivery confirmation though). Mildura just called me to say one game is coming from them and the other now from a different store as they didn't have it in stock. I guess that might be because the deal got ozbargained. The Good Guys possibly shouldn't be offering online shopping as their stock checking system seems to be pretty crap and they flick your order out to whichever store they deem the best to deal with it without properly checking that store has the stock.

Waiting in anticipation that all 4 games get to me ok but…

  • I can't seem to add Donkey Kong to cart. It says incomplete order or out of stock. Is anyone else able to do it?

    Same with Mario Party 9…?

    • That's what I get too - for any of the products on two different devices & 3 different browsers.
Store selection page doesn't work either.
      I blame Spamhaus. ;)

  • I got a missed call from Shepparton for Galaxy 2, doesn't sound promising.

    • I got a missed call from Preston this morning :( No stock online or instore for Galaxy 2… got refunded!

      • Yep as I expected they didn't have a copy, pretty disappointed to be honest I doubt I will buy online with them again.

  • All popular Wii games NIL stock on-line & in stores Mel. Same as EXPIRED.

    • Confirmed with Good Guys web support.
The links above are cached versions - searches bring up no results.

  • My Mario Party 9 arrived this am. My order from Penrith is now coming via Australia Post rather than courier for reasons the store couldn't be clear on, & they owe me a partial refund which hasn't happened for reasons that sounded very vague. For me to ever shop online with The Good Guys again, the deal would have to be exceptional. This was borderline due to their odd way of operating, they are not fun to deal with.

    • Hi - the stock was definitely limited and so the team are doing their best to get everyone's order fulfilled - even if it means coming from all four corners of Australia!
Let us know how you get on - here or via [email protected] and we'll do our best to help.

      • I tried the address. They just told me off and they won't do a backorder. Really really disappointed.

  • just heard from Good Guys after sending them a query.
No stock left, 2 week wait.
bit annoyed, placed my order fairly early on…they must not have had much stock to begin with.
    oh well…

    • Hi,
Stock flew out the door with this offer - but the team are doing everything they can to not disappoint customers. Thanks for your patience.

      • no stock available for the games i ordered. and they made me call a melbourne number in order to get a refund- i left a message but haven't heard back. these guys are crap- i will never buy from them again. i can't believe the difficulty in getting a refund. pure bait advertising. information from them is crap as well- i only found out what happened to my order when i rang the store to maybe pick it up instead of waiting for the post. still have had no written confirmation from them. pathetic company. buyer beware. will prob complain to paypal and fair trading

  • Got a call about Galaxy 2. 10 day wait for me. They said they're ordering new stock in to fulfil the orders.

  • Well I am kicking myself. Tried to place an order when this was first posted had some issues then. I got back today, product pages say the games are in stock but when I go to add the games to cart it says they are out of stock, grrrr.

Guess I'll keep checking to see if anything changes.

Wonder if I could get some where else to price match…

    • thought DS can pricematch?

  • I called yesterday and the store that's handling the Super Mario Galaxy 2 shipments (somewhere in NSW) said they just received their stock from Nintendo and were going to send them out this week.

    • Nice! Thanks for the update :)

  • Positive vote removed due to email/refund

Would vote neg for the delay after being assured order wasn't going to be cancelled

  • if only they had it at this price before i softmodded my wii.

  • Just received my package this morning. :)

  • Bit late, but I got my Super Mario Galaxy 2 last week Friday. :)

  • huh? …
