Nice deal, I just bought another single AA Sepik, but I've been keen on this light for a while, but 50 bones was too steep. I think I'll get one.
enjoy it!
Whats the tint like on this warm/cold? Also, any other group buy deals in the works rep?
you can have a discuss on http://www.thrunite-store.com/forum/
I guess i'll find out in a week or so. Now i just have to justify to the missus why we needed another light(we are entering double digits now).. any help would be appreciated, as i got nothin sigh.
Can anybody recommend some cheap batteries for this torch?
I guess the Woolies "Homebrand" ones will not be very good.
Eneloops or GTFO.
I was trying to avoid rechargable ones - I do not have a charger and am just here in Australia for another 8 weeks, so buying one would be a waste of money.
If you want 'good' batteries, why not just get a pack of eneloops or whatever and hold off buying the charger until you are out of Australia? Eneloops at least come somewhat charged, so unless you plan on using the torch a lot in that time then I'm sure they will suffice.
Otherwise just get the cheapest thing you can find even if they suck, and throw them out when you leave.
If you plan to use Alkaline (not a good idea long term) then some good cheap options are:
30 Varta AA from Bunnings: $8
20 Chevron AA from Big W : $6
I posted this before it was live but it got deleted.
I have one already and bought another on this group buy for my brother as a gift.
I cant register, its keeps saying that username_taken. tried multiple times using different username.
please use the online chat on the page, someone will help you.
1A at the LED means at least 3A at the battery. Extremely optimistic for a 1xAA. If you want it bright, use a torch which takes an 18650 or two.
And why buy this when you can get an XM-L cheaper? Bum deal.
1A does only mean the torch is for one AA battery while the 2A is for two AA batteries and the 1C is for a 1CR123.
Oh and I bought it because of the moonlight feature - can not remember a torch with that feature for that price and that new generation LED
ok. thanks. But it does claim 178 lumens, which is as honest as most of them i suppose.
178 ansi lumens, which is why it's $50 not $8
you should be ThruNite Forum Member firstly, then you can enjoy the group buy price.
