Current Steam Bargains 50%+ Off - Gothic, Game Thrones, Left 4 Dead, Tropico 3 & 4, Transformers

100

Some of the bargains (NB individual games in the bundle are on sale too, but sometimes the bundles are cheaper than purchasing the components separately eg Tropico). Enjoy gaming that doesn't mandate an always on internet connection and server side saves, that doesn't support hobbyist modding and has microtransactions built in (I'm looking at the grasping capitalists at EA and Blizzard):

Game of Thrones bundle $17.50 (75% off) http://store.steampowered.com/sub/16443/?snr=1_4_4__43

Gothic Universe (1-3) (how can one not love German RPGs) $4.99 http://store.steampowered.com/sub/6375/?snr=1_7_7_204_150_2

Endless Space $14.99 http://store.steampowered.com/app/208140/?snr=1_7_7_204_150_…

F1 2012 $13.59 http://store.steampowered.com/app/208500/?snr=1_7_7_204_150_…

Transformers War Cybertron $4.98 http://store.steampowered.com/app/42650/?snr=1_7_7_204_150_1

Blood Bowl Chaos Ed $10.19 http://store.steampowered.com/app/216890/?snr=1_7_7_204_150_…

Transformers fall Cybertron $16.99 http://store.steampowered.com/app/213120/?snr=1_7_7_204_150_…

Tropico 4 Collectors Ed (all DLCs) $12.49 http://store.steampowered.com/sub/19282/?snr=1_4_4__112

Left 4 Dead 2 "Nanny State Edition" $4.99 http://store.steampowered.com/app/550/?snr=1_4_4__112
(I would purchase this but for the censorship, hopefully Amazon will match this pricing with a real version)

You kinda crossed your EA assault statement back on itself
I think you meant to say "supports hobbyist modding" and "doesn't have microtransactions"

but either way I'll +1 you for the fact you slammed EA as part of your post. I was so sad to see the SimCity bargain get so many +'s when it was posted here the other day :(

If you're after the uncensored L4D2 you can just get it from the US steam store, I'd say gifting it to yourself from a US steam account is about as legit as putting a fake address into amazon and then keying in the code.

    • Question: What is the correct procedure for purchasing from the US Steam store? Last week, I created a dummy gifting Steam account, used a free VPN service (I forget which one), and tacked on a real US suburb and postocde to my street address, but the transaction failed on the 2 credit cards I tried. What am I doing wrong? Could it be a problem with the VPN service? Or are my credit cards (28 Degrees master & Westpac VPN) refusing the transaction due to the address discrepency?

A detailed explanation of how to accomplish this would be appreciated.

Or just buy the oz version. Google "left4uncut". Run it before launching the oz L4D2 and it will run uncensored.

+1 for "Nanny State Edition" description

    • Apparently Der Vaterland has far more strict censorship regarding games involving conflict. One might expect the Krauts to be sensitive over WW2 games, but GTA and zombie games are also blacklisted by them. They also have to separate their trash into 7 different recycling bins or be fined, cannot mow their lawns or wash their cars on Sunday, and apparently cannot shower or bathe after 10 PM. Governments should stick to the essentials like infrastructure and affordable health care, and leave everything else alone.
