112

Hi All!

We are back! This time you can get 5% off our prices in exchange for a like on Facebook and also if you refer a friend, we will send you $5!

A bit about us:

Currently we own a 2009 Audi A6 and this is the vehicle being utilised in our business. We have over 10 years of experience within the taxi industry.

Our drivers have an extensive history on the roads and have more than seven years of experience driving a chauffeured car. They have good track records on the roads and great customer service.

We will offer an on-time service, safe drivers and a welcoming environment.

The cars have met RTA and NSW Transport standards and have a complete insurance cover on the vehicles.

The fare schedule is as follows (not restrictive):

From Hornsby(And Surrounds) to Sydney CBD $75
From Hornsby(And Surrounds) to Airport $110

This gives you a rough idea as to what you will expect and we do other areas as well.

We welcome you to use the http://www.worldtaximeter.com/sydney to compare our charges!

All aforementioned fees are inclusive of GST, waiting fees etc. This is the only fare you will be paying. (10% Surcharge if by Credit Card, eftpos machine charge)

For Bookings and any other questions please contact us on [email protected] or visit our website for more details: sydhirecars.com

Competitors who use similar vehicles charge up to $170 and my prices are similar to taxi prices however you get prearranged bookings and a higher status vehicle.

eg. A Taxi to the airport costs around $100-120 depending on traffic, we charge a set $115 and can also utilise bus lanes as well ensuring that you get to your destination on time.

ON CALL SERVICE ALSO AVAILABLE - SAME RATES (1 HR NOTICE REQUIRED)

Thanks

  • Why do limousines in Sydney cost the same as taxis? TAXI LICENSES.

    • Just to clarify, this is not a taxi.

wow, if this isn't just advertising, I don't know what is. Also, the credit card surcharge is crazy. Neg for me

    • +3

The Credit Card Surcharge of 10% is not implemented by us, it is the industry payment standard. If you catch any taxi and pay by credit card you will notice there is a 10% surcharge… so unless you do not catch taxi's often, then it is not considered to be crazy.

Just to clarify, this is not a taxi.

        • The Vehicle used to transport is as specified; a 2009 Audi A6. This uses the same payment systems as a taxi just so some people are able to use CabCharge to further add convenience to our customers.

    • I agree, 10% is a rort !!!

      • +2

Haha thanks. Trust me… none of that 10% goes into my pocket.

        • +1

If you use the cabcharge terminal then you are right, the surcharge will go to cabcharge
If you have your own terminal from your bank, then the 10% goes to you. I have seen taxi drivers using banks' terminal and still charge 10% extra

        • Yep, CabCharge Terminal for those using the company credit card. We have not obtained our own terminal as yet.

Advertising, rip off, and if the credit card companies are charging YOU 10% to process you need to switch immediately.

Nearly 2 years ago is hardly a dupe.

      • +3

Looks like a pretty clear dupe to me! Practically copypasta! He's (sorry, 'we're') even still using the same tired old 2009 Audi A6! I betcha that car rattles like a baby full of skittles by now! :-)

Even if it's not a dupe, @darthhasbro wins seven internets for his awesome memory skillz! :-)

And you guys need to learn how to drive, i have hours of footage of your clowns running about the city pulling more illegal manovures and parking then ive seen in the last 30 years.

You drive worse then taxi drivers, and thats a pretty low benchmark.

    • "..i have hours of footage of your clowns running about the city……"

Are you stalking them? I can't imagine why else you would follow them for hours (and if not by following, how would you get this amount of footage?).

      • Because i drive for a living, i spend anywhere from 50-70 hours behind the wheel a week + footage in my personal vehicle (20min drive to and from work everyday + weekend travelling etc)

it is amazing how much footage one can obtain with 7 cameras hanging off a truck at any given time (one out the windscreen, one mounted to the bullbar, one on each side of the prime mover, one on each side of the B trailer leading edge and one top mounted at the rear above the barn doors) and its all linked in with our tracking system so time, date, speed and i believe the new E6 units integrate with the side mounted radar units to record distance to object.

Hire cars, much like taxi's stick out like a sore thumb on the roads, so its not as if they are discrete in any form.

Not saying its the exact same business in the OP, it was hire cars in general.

        • If they stuck out, that would actually make them 'discrete.'
Wait, am I still logged into the OzGrammarPedant website?

    • I'm not sure how you can make that generalization… We have recently just started up so i am not sure where your footage of "my clowns" are coming from.

      • +3

Yeah, uh… the "recently just started up" bit doesn't cut it… unless we're dealing with a time traveler with a 'thing' for 2009 model Audi A6 hire cars in Hornsby… refer to the post above re 'dupe'!

        • Erm… i wasn't replying to your post? Can you refer to the post above re "hours of footage"?

        • +1

I'm referring to the post above that points out that a business identical to yours posted a 'deal' on OzBargain in 2011. Same deal, same prices, same rattly old 2009 model Audi A9… Old mate who made the post above re "hours of footage" has had plenty of time in which to collect hours of footage.

I'm neither going to plus vote this or neg vote this.

I came back from Gold Coast from a work trip October last year, and was asked as I left the terminal if I wanted a trip in a Holden caprice instead of a taxi, the guy quoted me a price and I thought 'WTF' so I booked a taxi.

The taxi ended up costing $7 less than the quoted chauffeur driver of the Holden Caprice. But I was stuck in a smelly can, with an even more smelly driver, he could barely make a word of English and was always on his phone talking in his language. Next time I leave the airport I'll take a chauffeur driver over a taxi.

    • Well $7 worth of discount

    • Pretty sure drivers are not allowed to solicit fares at the airport…

    • Yeah, same thing happened to me at Brisbane airport, years ago. That weekend where I took an Ansett Australia Mystery Flight for a bit of a break and a one-day holiday, and ended up at Brisbane… exactly the same place I'd been the day before on business with Qantas. Great!

Anyway, old mate sidled up to me on the forecourt, was all "Pssst, wanna buy a copy-watch?"… oops… wrong story, that was Singapore… no, in Brisbane it's all "wanna limo to the city?".

I took him up on his offer. Got me where I needed to go, fixed price, no surprises, no dramas. Seemed pretty dodgy at the time, but… shrug! I guess they just do things dodgy in Queensland!

  • +2

$75 from hornsby to city is a good price. Similar if not better than taxi fare. This is ozbargain I care about value for money nothing else.

    • +1

Yeah, I'd have negged the motherfather out of this one, only I took a cab a couple of days ago from Woolloomooloo to Chatswood in the middle of the night (no traffic at all) and it cost nearly forty dollars!!! Now I know I'm getting old and grumpy and grey and tight-arsed, but… christ-on-a-bike, where do they get off charging that much money?! I even struck up a friendly conversation AND showed the bloke where the speed camera is in the Harbour Tunnel!!!

So, much as I hate to admit it, $110 to the airport from Hornsby is probably actually reasonable. Sigh!

      • People can always take a bus to the cbd, train to suburb and taxi to your door, and it may be cheaper, but i would rather do it hassle free.

An Audi a6 is a nice car, but 2009… Is it top if the range? B&O stereo?

Rep, What would it cost me airport to circular quay? Would be evening trip on a Thursday. I'll be up there in 2 months.

        • +2

Hi Yes i would consider it top of the range. The 2009 is just for clarity and is the manufacture date of the vehicle, the Vehicle itself is the 2010 (Latest Model) comes with GPS, Phone, Sun-roof, I believe it is the premium sound (need to confirm).

Airport to Circular Quay will be $60 inc all tolls, bookings. (If credit then 10% applies). Just for comparison http://www.worldtaximeter.com/sydney quotes $64.50 as 2 tolls are involved.

        • +1

When I book my flights I'll let you know. I hate airport shuttle services. They go past every hotel and I want to throw up by the time I get to my hotel.
Plus I want the guy holding the sign with my name on it at baggage claim!

        • Haha yep! I always try and wait for the better taxi's but they are generally the occupied ones.

Yep the guy holding the sign is part of the service haha. Email us on [email protected] to arrange the booking and remember for every friend you refer, there is a $5 credit for you!

    Not a deal.

$17.30 and no CC 'processing' charge - http://www.cityrail.info/tickets/fare_calculator_131500.htm?…

No way is this trip worth $110, that is, unless you are Frank Martin, tho he at least had an A8 not an A6. Also to OP - look into PayPal here, if you are genuine about not liking charging the 10% fees.

    • It is two different markets… Getting packed into a train with a million pieces of luggage and having to change platforms or having a door to door service. Many people can claim it via company as well which is why we offer CabCharge.

We have looked into Paypal but im not sure many people would be happy about prepaying for a trip. If they are indeed happy to then yes, there is no 10% surcharge as the terminal will not be used.

    • With the unreliability of the CityRail network, I would rather hire these guys than miss my flight, cough up more money to get on another flight or miss out all together. I don't fly all that often and I am going to be spending the money to make sure I get to my flight on time and that I get home after a night flight, in one piece.

  • It's a reasonable price compared to taxi, but not a great bargin i think. Generally friends can give me a lift to or from the airport for the infrequent trip I'd take, otherwise i'd take the train, but after getting back from an overnight flight one time I didn't feel like training it, so got a taxi to Wahroonga. A few years ago it was about $80-90, but this trip, even with the most AMAZING run of green lights i've ever had and practically zero trafic, I got home and it was almost $100 - and then, bang, he presses his magic button and tolls and mysterious charges are added and it comes to $113 or something, (then Credit card fee on top = ~$124.)

Still, being a fixed fee is ok - but a flat $100 would be more bargain territory.

  • Nice to see you back on the air. Was wondering what happened to you as I am heading off to Perth in May and would rather not battle the trains or a potentially offensive/rude/clueless taxi driver…
