These are tiny battery powered LED lights to be attached onto the air valves of tyres. It seems to work best for bicycles as makes it look "cool" (reminds me of Tron), and improves the visibility of the cyclist to the other motorists. But it should work nicely on car wheels too.

At the ridiculously low price, I'm sure we could exercise creativity to come up with interesting ways to attach these lights onto our stuff, other than on wheels. Some possibilities I could think of are attaching them to bags, shoes, or caps.

If not for their good track record, I'd be thinking this offer is fake - how is it even possible to sell it so cheaply and even provides free shipping? This is mind boggling.

Normal price: US$1.49

Price with coupon code banggo: US$0.29

Before somebody mentions it, don't even think about putting them on your car….. it is illegal.
Where as on a bike, i believe it is still legal.

    • +1

I was actually thinking along the lines of cycling in the park or by the sea, rather than on the roads.

    • -2

Give car drivers something to aim at.

      • What the…? (Gulp!)

      • -1

Thats not funny, my brother died that way…

      • Yeah not funny fool, as a former competitive cyclist, not only were I targeted on a weekly basis by drivers with that attitude, but many of my mates were put into hospital and I lost 2 friends through drivres beleiving we didn't belong. One of the reasons I no longer compete.

      • What a really stupid comment mate, Grow up! it is the attitude of Australian drivers that is most dangerous on the road. People who cycle also drive and pay rego. Cyclist have kids, family and friends to go to home, so think about that next time you try to run a cyclist off the road.

        • He was joking, loosen up a bit.

    • Yeah and some people have vehicles used on private property

    • +2

doesn't stop P-plater, boy racers in Bankstown from putting them on their Civics and Pulsars

    • don't even think about putting them on your car….. it is illegal.

      sure is

Where as on a bike, i believe it is still legal.

pushbike or motorbike? motorbikes they would still be illegal for the same reasons as on a car. on a pushbike thats ridden on the road i could still see it being a fine etc because you still have to stick to road rules (like waiting at red lites etc)

    • +1

I thought they were for your car. I was about to say "welcome bogans, a deal just for you and the people with interesting hair cuts"

    • Why is it illegal on a car?

  • not a bad idea for safety when i'm riding in the mornings. Why not

  • got 1. thanks op!

  • Are these legal ??

    • +2

Legal to buy = good enough for me

I think for a motorbike these would be legal, They would be considered side marker lamps.

    • +1

sadly no - side markers need to be yellow. i have looked and looked and nobody makes bloody plain yellow ones

      • theres also rules for height of marker lights ect so no theres no way these could be legal on a bike.

      • +2

There's yellow ones in the link

  • +1

certainly cheap enough, but you might get a ticket if you use them on a road vehicle. dazzling other drivers and all

    • +1

That makes sense too. In that case, these lights might be better attached to kids tricycles. I'm sure they would love the lights!

  • Presta or only Schrader ?

    • If talking cars and motorbikes, suspect only schraeder

      • Yeah, at first it looks like it fits onto a schraeder valve by going right on top of it. I'm not sure how well it would fit and whether it would let air escape.

However, looking at the picture again, you actually have to glue it onto the plastic cap, or metallic if you have managed to grab hold of those (always useful as the plastic caps split, especially the presta ones).

Either way it looks like you have to tape or glue it onto the cap.

See the bottom left hand corner of the pictures provided on the website.

  • These are a harmless bit of fun (on a bike). For the first week or so the blue ones I had gave off a nice cool light and looked good, but after that they are less consistant - for months though you'll get blue flashes when you hit bumps in the road.

Thanks for the website link OP, there are a lot of cool solar/battery powered lights as well.

  • It can only light up when you vehicle is running at the speed of 30km/ph or above.

    • No, it works best at speeds 30km/h or above.
They will work at even low speeds of 5-10km/h and above, but wont be as effective!
