Hi guys, like the title says I'm thinking of purchasing a Retina MacBook Pro (have not yet decided whether to purchase the 15 inch or 13 inch model). I will be upgrading from an Asus ultrabook. Where do you think it will be cheapest? I am eligible for the education discount which also comes with the a free $100 gift card at the moment which I can probably sell for $75 as I have no need for it. Or should I walk into an Apple Store and ask for 10 percent off? There are also some listings for brand new MacBook's on Gumtree but I'm not sure if I should risk it. Looking for some advice from the OzBargain community so I can get a great deal. Thanks guys.

Get 2 points for each dollar at the Apple online store.
7500 points gets a $50 gift card.So a $2k laptop is roughly a $25 rebate on top of your education discount.

I got one off eBay for $1850 (with a USB Slim DVD Drive, case and Ethernet Adapter). Saw another one go the same morning for $1800. I picked it up the same day after a 40 minute drive and couldn't be happier. There was a deal where tehy were going for 20% of ($2000 exact), but I think that expired. They're pretty new and only a certain type a user gets one so I think second hand is reasonable for one.
Also, I think the 15" is the only way to go, the 13" was reviewed as a bad in between product.
