This is an old-school re-release done right, with plenty of display options, difficulty settings, Japanese and International versions and online leaderboards with viewable replays of the top ten scores.
I don't own one either. Had it on the Amiga back in the day - many an hour was well spent playing this game!
Wow, you must've done pretty well (or had heavy coin filled pockets) to finish this one at the arcade, the last few levels get pretty tough. I generally only ever used to drop one 20c piece into a game when I was a little kid — so I could play a few other games as well with my 60c to $1 game budget!
I was pretty happy to see Black Tiger as a freebie; it was one of my childhood faves too. Reckon I'll have to buy Commando and Ghosts 'n Goblins for Capcom Arcade Cabinet and have a crack at the leaderboards on those as well.
I poured countless coins in Arcades just to finish this game.

Not sure about on PSN/PS3, but for Xbox it's included in the "Capcom Arcade Cabinet" demo for free. Full version apparently. You also get a trial version of 1943 and some other game….

I read that the 360 download only has a demo of Black Tiger rather than the full version, so I didn't mention it in the post. I'll update now.
Apparently there are no watchable replays of leaderboard top scores either on 360. It looks like the PS3 got a superior version for once.

Most likely has all of the games included, but disabled.
Even for all of the games 1.5GB is a helluva lot; I wondered about this too. There does seem to be a lot of artwork which can be unlocked through gameplay though, which probably takes up much more space than the old games. Even so, 1.5GB does seem a bit crazy.

For those that care, you can not unlock achievements for Black Tiger unless you buy the first game bundle.
