I'm on the $7 LiveConnected plan with 200mb of data. I check the meter everyday in the morning to see where my usage is at. Today I get an email saying I have exceeded my data limit and they have barred my service. What did I did not realise was their usage meter has been down for over 24 hours and still is (only realised this after checking Whirlpool). So do you guys think I have a case with the TIO? Any assistance will help also.

I didn't think anyone went on that $7 plan unless you didn't plan to use the data. If you surf the net, the extra $4 month for peace of mind is well worth it.
was well worth it..
Have you seen the LC plans these days?
My advice….ditch LC and go with Vaya, better plans, much better service, they have a real call centre to help resolve issues. LC have gone seriously down hill since Ozbargain made them popular.
Before LC raised their prices, their were very similar with vaya. OP is still on the old pricing($7/m). I don't think anyone goes with LC anymore.
Agree 100% with billy_bob………..
We had similar problems with LC, and trying to resolve our issues was so frustrating because they simply don't want to know you when it's a serious complaint. Trying to get them to reply to our emails was a nightmare.
My mother (66) was supposedly acceded 3gb in I think was around 15 days. All her other bills she didn't even use 50-100mb. Anyway we ended up going through the TIO because they hit her up with about $183 excess.
We got back about $160.
Good luck and the sooner you dump them the better is my advice as there are much better providers out there then this mob.
ditch them
If you're that careful with it, you're probably only over by a few dollars. Probably not worth going through a TIO complaint over that - but up to you.
Besides, it takes 48 hours for data to update on the usage meter anyway, so the fact the usage meter has been offline for the last 24 hours is probably not relevant to your situation - you would have gone over your limit prior to the maintenance occuring.
The best way to monitor data usage with services like this is to also have data usage measured on your phone, and use this info along with the service provider's usage meter. That way you know how much you have really used, instead of relying on information that is 48 hours old.
In any event, the usage meter is working OK for me now.
