Supercheap Auto Air Compressor Combo $139 (50% off) - 2.5hp 120L/Min Compressor + 14 Pc Toolkit

90

I've been considering getting a cheap-ish air compressor for a while. By chance found this combo deal that seems perfect for what I was after. I think Supercheap Auto have run this deal before. Boggles me how this stuff can be so cheap.

Combo deal includes the 2.5HP Air Compressor (223419) and SCA branded 14 pc Air Tool Kit (155011)

Quality is on par with the price, that is it is for around the home DIY stuff. Warranty does not cover commercial use. Tool kit seems really flimsy (good enough to get you started) but the compressor itself seems more than adequate for around the home and comes with a very good manual.

Blackridge 2.5HP Portable Air Compressor (PLU 223419)

  • Suitable for medium duty DIY jobs around the home
  • Runs off 240V AC
  • 2.5HP Direct Drive Motor
  • 120L / minute free air delivery capacity
  • 85 - 115 PSI air pressure

SCA 14 pc Air Tool Kit (PLU 155011) is enough to get you started with things like removing car wheels, inflating tyres, and air dusting

  • 5m spiral hose with nitto type fittings
  • Includes drive impact wrench (1 x 1/2") & sockets (3 x 1/2" - 14mm, 17mm and 19mm)
  • Air duster gun
  • Tyre inflator with pressure gauge
  • Air tool oil
  • Thread tape
  • 2 x male nitto type fittings
  • 2 x female nitto type fittings
  • Female nitto type coupler
  • 12 month warranty

Are you meant to get this product delivered?

Doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere.

    • Yeah noticed add $25 it seems

    • I actually found the deal while browsing at my local Supercheap at Hectorville in SA. They had plenty of stock. I just linked the online catalogue for convenience. You go in grab the two items and take them to the checkout

  • I got this one a while back when the deal was similar. Not a bad little unit - still working after household use of about a year :)

  • Thanks for the post OP. I'm trying to work out if these affordably priced compressors and tools will just leave me regretting they aren't up to the real thing:-

This tool kit doesn't look to me to be of much value — unless you play with the wheels of your car a hell of a lot! 5m hose looks too smal, too, but it may just be my use cases. I'm interested in air-chisel for removing ceramic floor tiles; drill; grinder; buffer; nail-gun and possibly some paimt jobs at home (roof and fences.)

Interested to hear views from those with more experience.

    • This kind of compressor is perfect for everything that you mentioned. The only thing it probably couldn't do is CONTINUOUS spray painting and grinding.

I've used our direct drive for painting stain /oil onto treated pine, but you have to stop once it starts running the motor and wait until pressure comes back up. Really you need a lot more freee air delivery for spraying.

But for nail guns, etc this size (or even a 2HP 25L will be fine.

  • Will this be suitable for spray painting?
I'm looking at doing small(er) jobs such as painting wheels + single body kit panels - as opposed to a whole car

    • Not really… for cars you use lots of thin coats, and you can't stop part way because you get a texture change or gloss difference.

Nothing would be worse than running out of air part way through a panel.

Airbrush or dedicated low volume gun = yes

Spray gun with pot (especially a cheapy) = nope

  • Trying to see if it is the same deal as this one but cheaper

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/86980

    good price anyway

  • Thanks for posting OP, picked one up today, put it together early will start it up tomorrow. Unfortunately after opening my air tool kit I noticed it was a return and had already been used, so I will be taking it back tomorrow for one that definately hasnt been opened. @Jettblack im 99% sure its the same as the previous deal you posted, the compressor in 2.5hp and 120L. The hose is quite cheap and flimsy and the toolkit isnt of a great standard, but for the price you definately can't complain!
