  • Maybe someone did a "Dell" & put the wrong price on the website…..they're $49 now…. ;->)

  • My apologies - in spades!! - cacbm……must have suffered a "Senior's moment"…. ;->)

  • Does it come with any ink?

    • yep. its in their product spec:

'Included in the Box: PIXMA iP1900 Inkjet Printer, Setup CD-ROM and printed documents, 2 genuine Canon cartridges, power cord and 12 month warranty card'

      • thanks for pointing it out. i'm blind :)

  • ordered 3 what a waste of packaging for 6 ink cartridges
    $54 delivered

    • 19 * 3 = 57… how did you get $54?

      • QTY Discount I guess, this also includes brisbane metro delivery of $5
I was at the brisbane store today they only have the newer model the 100 for 3 times the price.

    • despite the invoice on line saying $54 my credit card was charged $61 no biggy!!!!

  • I thought cartridges included with printers are never full? 50% full at best? Hopefully you guys correct me though =)

    • Correct. Once printers fell below the $80-$100 mark a few years ago, cartridges were only sample ones. I am happy with my $0 (after $20 cashback) Lexmark printer I got at Harvey Norman on boxing day. lol.

  • are these available in store?

  • canon and HP have 2 different cartridges on their basic models its almost half the price for the smaller one 1/2 the ink
but for this price they are still a bargain.

  • +1

I may get one. I'll have to investigate cartridge availability/cost.

    Here is an online review:
    http://www.trustedreviews.com/printers/review/2008/09/25/Can…

  • Great bargain but we've become such a throwaway society!

  • Good value, especially since there is no cashback crap. (by the time u cut out the barcodes fill in and print the online form and photocopy the lot, address it the cashback crap, you have wasted at least 30 mins of your time.)

    • It takes you that long to do it? lol my grandma could do it in 5 mins and she has no arms :P
Great deal might buy 5 today

  • Out of stock now… 14 hours after this is posted…

  • I just ordered 3 and order to checkout fine … showed in stock & no back orders. Delivery ETA is today.

  • looks like I got the last lot. Ordered 5 and only got 3, 2 on backorder. Good deal, thanks!

  • Ordered mine just then, says it was instock

    • Stock probably based in state you are in so maybe that's why some people can order fine and others get back orders or out of stock.

NOTE: DOESN'T come with USB cable, so need to buy this on top (around $15-20). This is standard now though so not just with this deal, usb cable only included with multifunctions. Just thought i would let people know before they get a suprise when trying to connect it up.

    • $15-20 gets you a gold plated USB cable.
      Check here:

      Cable under $5 delivered

    • i don't think that is true. Although it does say a usb cable in the spec, how else do they else people to use the printer if they don't have the cable. The package should come with everything to make the printer fully functional….

  • The funny thing is, the printer is probably cheaper than the cartridge itself. And it comes with 2!

A very good buy considering cartridges usually cost $20 - 30 instore.

Also, generic printer cables can be found for around $5. Just look for it from your local computer shops instead of stores like DSE, they tend to rip you off.

  • for all the people who bought this printer - What ink-cartridges did you end up getting? was it color cartridges or both black?

    were they full?

    Thanks

  • Ordered one, came $19 + $4.95 (handling) + $4.95 (postage).

  • Got mine delivered to me today, same day delivery (ordered mine @ 11am)
    havent opened it yet lol
usb cable, i already got some at home

  • I got mine today I have usb cable coming out my yingyang, really fast for a budget printer. on PARif not a bit faster than my canon MX610. Cartridges 2 of them, 1 x 3 colour combined and 1 x black they feel full but time will tell. Comes with photo paper too. Will test that on the weekend. Only gripe so far is the gravity paper feed, it allows the paper to sag and bend a bit. I feel bad for buying 3 (two just for the cartridges) I am going to have a hole in the ozone layer named after me at this rate.

  • Pretty sure they'll use a reduced capacity ink cartridge for these. They did this the last time I bought a cheap canon printer (MP210 model - $50 after cashback.) The ink cartridge that was included were PG-37, not the standard size PG40 ones you buy in store. Apparently PG37 is a special reduced capacity ink cartridge, roughly half the capacity of the normal ones.

The IP1900 is not the same as the MP210 but time will tell if they both use reduced capacity cartridges.

  • I got mine in the store and there were still quite a few there so you should save a few extra delivery dollars by going to your local store

  • Officeworks Castle Hill has about 20 left in stock.

They are the same price $19 which is a bargain.

  • I also went straight to an Officeworks store and got it for $19 without any problems, despite the "only available online" notification on the OfficeWorks website.

    • out of curiousity, did it come with a USB cable? or a normal printer cable?

      • No usb cables.

  • No cable at all.

For cheap little things like that. check out www.dealexteme.com

    Hi,

Could some one who bought one of these please check the expiry date on the ink cartridges :)
My printer takes the exact same ones, so I'll be buying a few (or a lot) just for the ink! How mental is that! But, way cheaper than buying them individually given that there is one black and one colour in the box.
BTW Officeworks on the Nepean near Southland had a big pile of these as of last night (Thursday).

  • Just grabbed a couple of these from the local OfficeWorks (Fountain Gate), still plenty of stock left.

  • I will be surprised if the cartridges are full.

  • +2

The Printer comes with a full PG-37 BLK cartridge which contains 11 mls of ink, there is a high yield cartridge at well the PG-40 BLK which contains a whopping 16 mls of ink.
The colour cartridge is a CL-38 9 mls there is also a colour high yield CL-41 12mls. Officeworks have the 37/38 as well as the higher capacity 40/41. PG-37 $27.95, PG-40 $35.00 & CL-38 $32.50, CL-41 $37.00 This means the printer comes with $60.45 worth of cartridges. A quick search on google found compatible cartridges for around $5 + shipping

  • got two this afternoon from Noarlunga SA. Great find. Heaps left. I also grabbed some of the $4.95 1gb usb flash drives, as they laser engrave really well.

  • Unbelievable price, however I just wander how much the inks cost..

  • Hi gang,

I actually bought one from Office works in the Melbourne CBD. 19 dollars and no delivery fee :).

Also picked up 1gb USB, 4.95.

    • yeah, got mine today @ OW QV….still have like < 20 left….i saw a couple of people bought it on the way there………..thining about buying another one for stock :D

  • Ringwood, Vic doesn't seem to have any. Anybody know of a store nearby that may have these, please?

  • Does anyone know if you can get any cheap non genuine ink for this printer? I have a canon ip1000 which does the job for me - and inks are less than $2 each on ebay, or close to $1 if you buy the ink in bulk (ie. 50 at a time!). If you dont care about quality but would prefer cheaper ink perhaps it might be better to look for an alternative printer with cheap ink available.

  • Well, went back to Officeworks on the Nepean near Southland this evening - party's over there folks! All gone and no more to be delivered. Guy checked Elsternwick for me too. No dice.
Grab 'em if you still can guys - I checked the price for the ink cartridges alone- yea-ouch!

  • North Ryde Officeworks had about 5 in stock.
