Seems pretty good, most the eBay stores I snag my points from are a few dollars more expensive. Definitely cheaper than through Microsoft themselves too.

  • Great stuff, been waiting for this.

5 dollars off for already overinflated prices is a bit "how ya going" to me.

    • agreed, it riles me all these companies effectively "issuing their own currency" (frequent flier and reward points are in the same boat, as are gift cards) but not having to comply with any of the normal banking.finance regulations. They can (and do) regularly devalue these things.

The prices themselves on XBL are usually the same world wide. If you can get the points cheaper then that's a win win.

I remember a while back I bought Max Payne 3 on demand and the $AU price was $50. The US store has it for $40. When I looked up how much points cost it was 3000 points. So by using previously purchased points card (4800 points for $48) it worked out to be about $30 which for the time was a decent purchase.

      • Maybe Microsoft figured out how to pay developers less when consumers buy their goods with Microsoft points? Wouldn't it be a laugh if they paid devs in Microsoft points!

        • I should have said "the prices in points" not the prices.

They probably pay the Devs the US value of the points. So say a game sells for 800MPS and they pay the devs (using the Apple model as I have no idea how it works on XBLA) 70% so they'd pay the devs the monetary equiv of 560MPS.

If MS charge $1 for 100 points in the US and $2 for 100 points in Au, and the game retails in both countries for 800MPS then Americans are paying $8 and we pay $16 in real terms. So if they are paying devs based on the US price of points then they are paying them $5.60 rather than $11.20 and pocketing the rest.

But that's all just assumption based on no real facts.

  • thanks OP.

  • Thankyou OP… this will keep the kids happy happy :)

  • " WE ARE SORRY, PRODUCT IS OUT OF STOCK! "
When/if there be any more avail, seems a good price.
    Anybody receive their points?

    • they are now back in stock but the quantity is limited so they will probably sell out pretty fast

Yes - in stock but no longer discounted to $45?

        • At the time we wrote the last message there were still codes at the discounted price. In about 4 hours all the codes sold out, and the codes we're selling now come from another supplier, at a different price.

expired? tried to put the code above but got this message instead:

"This promotion has been redeemed the maximum number of times allowed"

  • Maybe it's better to get one from BigW as the wws special" spend $50 for 3 weeks get $15"still going, with my 5% off giftcard.

  • Did anybody get a code @ $45??

  • Just bought a code and the code was verified!!!!!
