sighs* still no devondale long life milk for 1$

    • +1

Is there any differnce between the devondale and the homebrand/aldi? I cant say i have noticed. I assume they are from the same producer.

      • +12

        you mean, like, a cow?

      • +3

yes devondale tastes much better - i can't stand aldi's

        • +1

Really? I use all 3 and i havent noticed a difference. Would have to try a blind taste test to be sure.

I did get one some from aldi once that tasted really bad. every other time i wouldnt be able to pick it from devondale.

Pauls milk on the other hand. I cant stand that stuff. Tastes like flowers. I can pick when people have used even in coffee.

      it's 2l for $2 atm :)

  • Thanks OP.

A got to taste a Nutella cheesecake made by a friend on the weekend. It was Ah-mazing. Shall definatley be letting them know about this deal!

  • +1

Thanks. Out of curiosity has anyone tried any other hazelnut spreads? I've used the black and gold version, just once. Tasted like stale chocolate bunnies, the cheap kind you buy for $1.

I've had the 'Nutino' spread which is still pretty yum and the closest to Nutella that you can get I suppose :) It's also often put on half-price at coles (last time it was like $2.99 for 750g), so keep an eye out! ;D

    • +1

Yep, Nutino is not bad at all, I actually prefer it.

    • -3

      nuttin beats nutella (pronounced new-tella)

    • +1

just dont read the ingredients in any of them if you want to still like it.

Spoiler: First 2 ingredients are sugar and palm oil (or less specifically vegetable oil).

lol they actually got sued (and lost the case) for the 'health' claims http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/26/nutella-lawsuit_n_1…

    • In terms of full price, Nutella is pricier than nutino.
In terms of thickness, Nutino is thicker.
In terms of taste, it's subjective.

      source:
I regularly buy them whenever and whichever half price from whichever stores.

  • Aldi chocolate spread is pretty yuck, tastes more like hazelnut rather than chocolate

    • hazelnuts in a hazelnut spread! OH GOD NO! won't someone think of the poor obese children!??!

You'll need the cheap toilet paper after eating all that rubbish.

A large amount of hipsters have been seen flocking to Coles stores…

  • Morbid Obesity, here I come.

Yuck, palm oil: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutella I can remember in the distant past when one could actually taste hazelnuts. Now it's all sugary. And not even chocolate-sugary.

    • I doubt it has changed much. Probably just tastes changing as we all get older.

      • +1

I think palm oil is a recent development. It's not a traditional Italian ingredient. There are no records of Marco Polo bringing back palm oil from SEA.

    • Cough Cough from the wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutella

"In the USA, Ferrero, was sued in a class action lawsuit; in an April 2012 settlement, it agreed to pay $3 million (up to $4 per jar for up to five jars in returns by customers) in a settlement in which Nutella's misleading promotion led consumers to believe that Nutella carries nutritional and health benefits, marketing it as part of a nutritious breakfast."

Umm ppl think a chocolate spread can ever be nutritional and healthy.. hmmmm only in America perhaps.

      • +1

what about nutra grain? that is marketed as "healthy" too

  • nutella cheesecake here i come! cheat meals are great.
