I can't believe they can charge $200, let alone $330 for a gloried hairdryer.
But it's certainly cheaper then elsewhere

But it's certainly cheaper then elsewhere

      Got a link?

      • This is a good point, it's only marginally cheaper than elsewhere because I'm almost certain I've seen the local Target had them on sale for $215 a few months ago. (Cannington, WA).

  • REP, can you please adjust your title to include your business name, and to reflect that your fryer has $15 shipping? It's not really 40% off if you can't avoid the shipping fee.

  • not a bargain. Harvey Norman sold it for 188 not long ago. People got it for as low as 160 last year.

    • if you cant get that price NOW, then your comment is as useful as an out of date price listing. It IS a bargain unless you can reveal you can get it somewhere else for cheaper right NOW.

  • Bought mine close to the full retail price some time ago but had used it fewer than ten times. It's good but the capacity is too small for a family. It's ideal for a student in college or a couple w/o kids.

  • Was this the old model? From memory with the new model the capacity was a lot bigger.

    CHOICE verdict

While the Airfyer is a healthier alternative to deep frying, it’s expensive both initially and in running costs, it's large and bulky and only accommodates comparatively small portions. Your oven will fit a full meal with no problems and provided you keep the oil to a minimum, you’ll achieve the same result.

    • good for people who want to diet. keeps their chips portions tiny.

    • ok. lets see you cook a fresh battered "wet" banana fritter in the oven.

      • lets see you cook fried rice in the oven too.

seriously, its common sense to use the right tool for the right job.

  • I saw it was $160 when goodguys on sale and the telfa around $160 with free fry pan.

  • is anyone gonna even buy one let alone the maximum of two?
your home oven works just as well

  • Has anyone even used one of these?

  • Found a cheaper alternative at Kogan:
    http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/low-fat-air-fryer

  • FYI they have terrible reviews.

  • Used one of these recently. Does an OK job at what it states. Food was a little dry for my liking though.
Can't really beat the devilishly good taste of deep fried saturated fatty chips!

    • if you use it like a glorified oven, you won't cook it wrong.

  • People will either hate this or love this air fryer. If you have big family forget this item. Personally I love this item . why you use giant oven to cook for 1-3 people ? At the full price yeah this item expensive. But not at oz bargain price.

  • I have one of these, paid $249 about two years ago.

I for one like it - I could for 1-3 people in it - chips, chicken, anything else I might otherwise fry.

Easy to clean up (dishwasher) and a healthier alternative to a deep fryer…

  • Guys: Yes a home oven may cook it just as well but…

Standard cooking time for frozen chips = (5-10min preheating time) 30-45min in a fan forced oven at 180-210 deg C.
Miniture fan forced ovens can achieve = (2-5min preheat) 15-25min
Air Fryer = 10-12min no preheating time.

Yes small portions, offset by low cooking time, no need for preheating, ideal for small serves.

Using a full fan forced oven to cook 200g of chips for 1 person is a huge consumption of energy. Air fryer can get you better results of low cost (ie safeway/coles brand) frozen foods than in an oven.

If you consider time it takes to preheat and the actual power bill of heating up an oven, i find it hard to believe that using an oven to heat up for 1-2 servings is more 'economical'.

    my 2c

    • Not to mention the people who are talking about cooking in an oven are only thinking about frozen foods…What if i want to cook a freshly made banana fritter or any other freshly made battered "wet" stuff? in an oven? seriously?
