  Managed to get this for $560 the other week from the Harvey Norman in ACT. The above price is not really a bargain.

  I bought the 1000rpm model last week at Harvey Norman at 549.

  For 598 for the 1200 RPM model is a pretty good bargain but I cannot justify extra 50 bucks to spin alittle more drier, i guess the sun will be able to make up for the difference.

    Depends on your circumstance as to whether its worth it - if you use your dryer a lot, drier clothes out of the washer will save you plenty of $$. If you have inconsistent weather (like us in melbourne!), having to dry for less time on the line is an advantage! However, if you live in somewhere hot hot hot, and dont use a dryer, then the 1000rpm will surfice. :)

    It only spins at max speed for certain types of washes anyway. I think for cottons it will do max speed but for mixed loads etc it only goes to 800rpm anyway

      Alternatively, can you give prices on a 7.5 kg Bosch or a 8 kg Bosch?

      Need something bigger than the mentioned deal, which is a great by the way.

        I'll follow up with Samsung in the morning to get an eta. Not much in that capacity/price point. Bosch 8kg will go around $1500+, they have a 7kg? LG have a washer/dryer combo which is 8.5kg which we can do for $1099, which I think is an awesome washer! Another option is the 8kg electrolux which qualifies for the $150 Government rebate for excellence in water & energy efficiency. Just under $1000 after rebate..?
