Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 1 & 2 (3D Blu-Ray & Blu-Ray) $16.90 Delivered @ Mighty Ape

440

Great price for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on 3d Blu-Ray and Blu-Ray @ Mighty Ape today for their daily deal. Comes to $16.90 delivered and this is great value considering it is the 6 disc set with separate 3d and regular blu-ray discs.

Had a quick look to compare and found the prices below
Big W - $32.82 - 2 discs with 3d versions of the movie and no regular blu-ray versions
Jb Hifi - $38.99 - 2 discs with 3d versions of the movie and no regular blu-ray versions
Zavvi - £34.99 - 2 discs with 3d versions of the movie and no regular blu-ray versions

Based on these the deal at Mighty Ape for Harry Potter is an absolute steal!

(Also snagged myself Captain America on 3d Blu-Ray as Mighty Ape have it for $19.99 at the moment which is much cheaper than most shops and it is the 3d Blu-Ray/Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy Version… Check Captain America out here http://www.mightyape.com.au/product/Blu-ray-3D/Captain-Ameri…)

Maestrok made a good point I forgot to mention when I suggested Captain America… Mighty Ape charges a flat rate of $4.90 for postage so if you add other items to this they ship free with it

FWIW, it is fake 3D. The movies were shot with one lens.

Captain America is also fake 3D - I made teh mistake of watching it in "3D"- oh my eyes. YMMV.

I should buy these to complete my set, and sell the 3D dics :)

      sell the 3D dics :)

The 3D what? :) Some special promo pack you got?

      • I have never had any issues with my eyes with 3d but after reading these comments now I understand why it may have hurt manic! ;)

  • I thought 3D had fallen on its arse? No?

3D would gain a lot of traction IF was done correctly.. 95% of all non CGI movies are shot with one lens, and then using a post-processing effect, convert it to 3D, which looks like dogshot.. Avatar is probably about the only movie that was done correctly, and pretty much everything that's all CGI is proper 3D..

  • Does anyone have an idea of when we're going to get the Deathly Hallows Part 1&2 Ultimate Edition

    US Edition - www.amazon.com/Harry-Potter-Deathly-Hallows-Ultimate/dp/B009…

  • Combined postage to make it even cheaper!…seems like a flat postage cost!

  • Thought the wold mighty apple except its called ape. Great buy.

  • Bought! Great deal, thanks OP!

  • Bought, and major bonus points to Mighty Ape for having a shopping trolley instead of a "cart" like most other so-called Australian websites. Even Dick Smith is guilty (http://www.dicksmithfoods.com.au/store).

Thanks OP - just purchased, don't have the ability to play 3D Content yet but however just the price alone for the 2D Editions makes this a worthwhile purchase

  • I have alot of 3D movies, but even at this price I don't think i'll grab this. Harry Potter 3D is badly converted and is worth sticking with 2D imo in this case.

    • This comes with 2d versions of both films also… And it is cheaper to buy this 6 disc set than any other regular 2d blu ray set anyway… Just in case you misread and didn't realise ;)

      • Ahh, in that case good buy for 2D versions.

Decent price for this too - Dirt Showdown on PC for $10.

  • Not so good deal. $42 AUD delivered gets you the whole Harry Potter 8 films on blu-ray from Amazon UK although they're all the 2D versions but according to what i'm hearing the 3D versions is badly converted so might as well stick with the 2D.

    • This is perfect for me, as I've already bought the box set before Deathly Hallows came out, so I've already got all of the movies except for this. This is the cheapest way to complete the set.

  • Wha… wait. The price has gone back up to $44.99? Well, that blows… I guess I didn't read the bit about it being a daily deal. It should be marked as expired.

    • Yeah that now costs more than what you can buy the whole Harry potter 8 film 2D blu-ray box set from Amazon UK for. If i was given the choice i'd buy the complete 2D box set instead although i already have it. Who needs badly converted 3D versions.

I dont get how its not so good a deal? The deal I posted is $16.99 for the two movies including 3d and 2d versions (which is a 6 disc set) which I posted as a 3d deal and it suits me perfectly as it does Mikeypants as I was only missing these two movies from my 2d collection and also I love to collect 3d versions of movies (no matter how bad they are).

This deal is cheaper than anywhere else by at least $20 and it has more discs… Your comparison is for a totally different product? If people decided to buy a new complete series or complete movie set box set due to the "value" every time a new movie or season came out then it would cost a fortune!

Plus if you would buy a $42 box set out of spite for the 3d movies then it seems like a case of more dollars than sense to me… IMO

By the way ozbargainers have posted the deal that you linked to before and considering how cheap it has previously been at times I would wait and save some money if you are going to buy them all again ;)

    • Sorry about that mate… I forgot to do it at 10 this morning as I was at work, however it had been marked as expired by the time I got to it. (This deal was out a few months ago on mightyape so hopefully they will have it again soon so you can get these at a cheaper price and finish your set)
