Sorry - was too excited and typer too quick. $270.

There will be close to a 100 available! Coming with days.

        • Bad price. Buy elsewhere cheaper and redeem the same free game promotion.

        • Sorry, but I cannot find it cheaper elsewhere

        • Edit: Oh wow, it IS $270.

That's too much for an OCZ. I can't argue that it's the cheapest on staticice. What I can recommend is that people should buy a different brand. Samsung 630 / 640Pro, m4, Intel (the ones without a sandforce controller).

        • Used an OCZ for over a year and half now. No issues and still going strong.

  • +1

    It says stock left=1.

I hope they have more stock available or it's not a good deal regardless of the price.

    • There will be close to a 100 available! Coming with days.

      • +1

        So this is a pre-order?

        • We have already placed our order and it is already on the way to us. Unfortunately being in WA, this takes time.

        • -2

Well I'd be sending that box back to where it came from.

  • +2

This is a terrible deal OCZ SSD's are a terrible product.
Price is more inline with the Samsung 256gb 840 Pro http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf or the Intel 520 240gb http://greenboxit.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=37754
    Plextor M5Pro 256GB SSD - $269.00 http://www.scorptec.com.au/computer/48019-px-256m5p

  • +2

Regardless of the quality of the product, this just isn't a good price. Not sure who would find this deal "irresistible".

Also, which part is 'only at NetPlus'? The title implies the game is only free if purchased from your store, however the OCZ promotion looks to be generic.

    good price

    • +1

are mocking netplus? I cant see any reason why this is "good price"

    • explain yourself !
if you think this is a good price, you shouldn't be hanging around here on ozbargain "rolls eyez"

    http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=VTR1-25SAT3…

To be fair for this specific model, $270 would be the cheapest price in AU. Personally I'd still go Intel over OCZ any day of the week.

    • -5

Staticice is not the be all and end all of pricing, there are numerous pricing errors on their or am I the only one that notices this.
Also there are quite a few sites not listed on there.

      • +3

If you have found a retailer selling it cheaper, feel free to share it here. Otherwise the argument "this is not a good price" doesn't stand up.

        • +1

No but then again I haven't tried all that hard.

I'm not having a go at you about using staticice, just a bit annoyed with it today since I spent the better part of the day looking for a 250GB ish SSD only to find a large number of the prices I click on were outdated.

  • +1

This may be a good product, and it might be reliable but unfortunately consumers will avoid OCZ regardless of what they make nowadays.

    • I understand what you mean, but the Vector series has been very good. But true, it does not move as well as Intel and Samsung.

      • -1

So REP what you are saying is that there have not been major issues with failures in the 3 to 4 months since it's been launched?

        • Correct - no issues with the 3 sizes of Vector models.

It appears they offer a 5-year warranty now. Perhaps they have a bit more faith in their products? ;)

  • Revoked neg for price drop, now it's a good price for the product.

    • ;)

  • +3

250GB drives are available for <$200 why is this one so expensive?

    • +1

It's an OCZ. They think they still have a decent market share like its 2010.

  • +4

This is a Far Cry from being irresistible.

    • Far Crying out loud… That pun is terrible.

      • +1

        FarC

        ..wait.

        • carn't finish that sentence

  • -1

Why would you buy this when other comparable branded SSDs are almost half the price…?

    • Please provide evidence of 250gb (around 500MB/s) SSD around for $135.

      • -1

        He's obviously exaggerating REP.
And there are so many variables with bench marking software that to say "Please provide evidence of 250gb (around 500MB/s) SSD around for $135" is just silly.
        How about a sub $200 Intel 335 they're clocking a reasonable amount over 500MB/s :)

  • +4

    I feel that you guys are being a bit too harsh with this deal. I mean;

    • For the exact same model SSD, it is $274 plus shipping of around $10 everywhere else. That makes this a decent price regardless of your feelings about how good the product is. I mean if 1kg of ice sells for $10 at the lowest price in Antarctica, and a retailer there sells it for $9 including delivery - it is still a bargain :)

    • This is a new OCZ model - the Vector model which is a big difference (a far cry if you like) from the old and hateful Vertex II etc. OCZ as a company has been going through a huge turnaround and this could well be their hero product.

    • Even during the dark days of failing Vertex II's and Octane's etc, our experience showed that OCZ had always replaced the drives with their newer updated models. And they had replaced new for old without any hassles.

    • The Vector model has only been around since December, so it is still early days. But their reliability so far is the same as Samsung and Intel - ie. ZERO returns.

    • The Vector is a high performance SSD. Often compared with the Samsung Pro 840 and Intel 520 rather than the regular Samsung 840 or Intel 330 for example.

    • Far Cry 3 is still worth about $44 at the cheapest right?

    • -1

      0 returns??
      https://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&safe=off&tbo=d&q=+sit…
Looking at some of the above threads see how quick OCZ is to blame failure on other parts.

OCZ may well be trying to turn around unfortunately it's early days still and the bitter taste is still in many peoples mouths.
Warranty was really quick except for the added cost of postage, they weren't exactly excited to hear from me :) , but still there was the inconvenience of the whole failure. Until it happened to me I thought everyone was just exaggerating. I certainly didn't hang onto the replacement once I received it.
The brands performance has a lot to do with the quality of the deal.

      • +1

Zero returns to us. But then we are just a tiny little retailer.

As for google search. Try searching for "intel ssd failure" or "samsung ssd dead" or any combination of…

        • "No results found for 'intel SSD failure', did you mean 'ocz ssd failure'?"

          Just kidding ;)

    • +2

To be completely fair, I think we should vote negative if we can find another one selling this one cheaper.

NOT another one is selling another product (that people think it's better) cheaper.

      Just my 2c.

  • any good deals for 128G 7 mm SSD?
