Credit where credit's due. I bought a deal for lunch or dinner for 2 at a local restaurant. Tried twice by phone and once by email to contact the restaurant with no joy. Lodged an on-line complaint with Scoopon and got an automated response saying they would get back to me hopefully in 2 days.
Well within 48 hours I received a nice email from Celeste at Scoopon saying the restaurant had gone out of business and I could choose a credit to Scoopon or Paypal (who I used to pay). I took the Paypal option and within literally minutes Celeste replied saying that a refund had gone into my Paypal account. Again within a few minutes I received a confirming email from PayPal.
Thanks Celeste and Scoopon - much appreciated.
Yes, that is good.
Scoopon could improve further by letting voucher holders know when a business has closed, rather than peeps planning on using a voucher and organising their expectations around the fact that the voucher will be honoured.
Not all vouchers require bookings, so peeps could waste a lot of time going to a closed location, and could face potential embarrassment if they had promised to take someone out, etc,
