The Scoopon Help Centre message below is misleading and absolute nonsense.
Opening ~two weeks from 18 Jan. would take you to the end of January.
Ring Viet De Lites, as we did several times, and the owner said this in a voice conversation:
“We may open by the end of February”! (we MAY - Sounds like we MAY NOT!)
End of February is also the current (6/2/13) message on the answering machine.
That is a month after the Scoopon suggested opening date.
Go to Southbank and have a look at the joint.
We went twice during normal tradesmen’s working hours.
No repair activity at all – in fact the joint was closed up.
Are they going bust ?
…and is Scoopon asking voucher holders to be ‘patient’ so holders will not ask for a refund until it is too late when last booking date of 5 March has past?
Have Scoopon, being aware of the restaurant having problems, emailed voucher holders with an offer of refund or an extension date for this voucher purchase.
No they have not, why would they. It is not in Scoopon’s interest to do this.
When your voucher has expired it is CA$H right to the bottom line for Scoopon.
This group buy deal industry needs to be regulated.

Dear Scooponeer,
Viet De Lites have been victim to a small fire, but will be re-opening in approximately two weeks. We ask for your kind patience, as you will be able to book after then.
Thank you.

Perhaps this person from Scoopon would care to comment !

Is this the original deal?
Doesn't look like there are any book by conditions.
Restaurant site confirms end of Feb. Seems tricky enough servicing 1,257 Scoopons in 3 months, let alone 2. As the conditions of the Scoopon have changed, you should have a case for a refund. May want to put in a complaint with ADMA
