  • Any deals on 120-128gb SSDs? :/

    • Not Samsung but $99 for Kingston HyperX 120gb SSD

      http://www.mwave.com.au/product/sku-aa22566-kingston_hyperx_…

      • is that the same one that msy have been selling for $99 for the past few months?

    • I'm waiting on shopping express to do another deal on the sandisk extreme. Seems to be the best bet price wise at the moment. Hope I'm not waiting to long…

  • Hmmm, not sure how reliable this drive will be. Holding myself back because its TLC. Good find anyway.

    • There shouldn't be any issues with it.
Yes it probably does have a shorter memory life cycle because of the TLC but
I'm sure I saw someone do a stress test on one of these and it lasted for a
few 100TB before doing whatever the hell these things do when they die.
Plus it has a 3 year warranty and if you use these only as an OS drive and
don't abuse them they should last for a lot longer.

  • I got the 830 for $180 and they are considered to be better than the 840 non-pro due to what they are made of and the write speeds I think are much slower on the 840. However the 830s are getting really hard to find now and $175 seems really decent now imo. Although it may be cheaper than other places selling 840s, I don't consider it to be a bargain as Kingston/Sandisk seem to be relative in performance (maybe even better) and can be bought at a lower price.

    • Pissed off I missed the run-out of the 830 at the $180-$185 mark, would have been quite happy with one of those.
Ended up forking out $250 for the 840 Pro. Although a bit better drive than the 830 it's definitely
not really $70 better. But what can you do.

      • I bought an 830 256GB for $195, that was the last unit I could find in VIC :(
