Great first post! Establishes a new-benchmark for desktop drives.
Good Deal, cheap postage
Free shipping too :)
good deal snaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake ;)
Thanks buds :)
is this a 3.5 inch drive? 5200 or 7200 rpm?
7200
this is 3.5
Thanks solid, just what I needed.
Able to be ripped out and put into a microserver?? :P
Standalone drives only cost $135 - Umart/MSY
135 is WD green at 5200rpm.
139 for Seagate
139-10(OZDAY2013)=129Plus, don't need to get off my lazy azz due to free post.
They also have the Toshiba ACA drives for 135, which are rebadged Hitachi drives. Rather pay an extra 6 bucks for warranty.
Drives should be the ST3000DM001
I've seen em cheaper, I don't understand why internal drives aren't cheaper thou, I'm waiting till 3tb internal hits a flat 100 then i'll fill one of those hp servers for $200.
Bought 1- thanks and used $10 off code
out of stock……………………
Bummer! Out of stock.
gay was about to buy and spent 10 minutes logging in. In that time it went to out of stock
is this from the UK ie. with UK plug?
Previous Seagate external drives I've bought have had the type of power supply that has clip in modules for each country.
Good price for this model.
However for the storage capacity it has been cheaper elsewhere previously :)
:
$118 @ JBHiFi 3 weeks ago:
This better than WD My Book Live 3TB ? OW & JB @ $199
What's the "Plus" about ?Plus supports thunderbolt and FireWire as well as ubs3.
It comes with a dock, which is worth $10-20.
No dock with it.
Seagate 3tb basic USB 3.0 drive was $148 in JB HiFi Macquarie Centre today…
The speed of Seagate Backup Plus is faster than other drivers with the same price.
Looks like there are more stocks now
Yep, just ordered one.
Received mine this morning. It does not have an Australian adapter in the box. It has EU and UK adapters only. Sent an email asking for an Aus adapter as shown in the quick guide that came with it. I would rather not have to buy a travel adapter.
Update: received a response this morning. Was offered and accepted a $20 refund as they were unable to supply an adapter. Picked one up from Woolies for $13 last night as I wanted to do a backup ASAP, so I am satisfied.
Can be combined with http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/92016 to get an additional $10 off with code OZDAY2013
