  • These are fantastic - I own one when it cost a bit more - this seems like a really good bargin!

You just need 2 x DD size batteries and your good to go - very hand for changing liquids between containers or filling car up with fuel.

  • What a great idea! I spent ages pumping litres of diff oil etc into my Patrol

    • what's wrong with siphoning?

        The taste

      • also this will pump upwards, so you don't have to have the liquid higher than where its going into..

I usually take this with me with the track and fill my car up with ethanol fuel from the ground into my car.

I hope you filter it a bit first.

Great device and I could definitely use one but being so 'affordable' I assume the motor is just a cheap brushed type which can produce small sparks. Anyone who owns one know how they get around that and therefore save people from blowing themselves up while pumping fuel? I can't find much detail on it that's all.

    • I just sent this deal to a friend who does crazy Karting stuff. He had one and loved it but it broke just before Christmas so this is good timing for him however when I asked him about the spark risk he said that he hadn't even thought about that before. Darwins theory instantly came to mind, eek!

This would be excellent but I'm hesitant to buy one if it isn't 100% spark proof… but then again even if it said it was how could you trust it?!

Spark risk was the first think i thought of as well when i saw "battery", "pump" and "fuel" in the same sentence.

  • Any idea what is the suction tube's diameter? Would it fit through a dipstick hole? Or a small (motorcycle) engine's oil filler hole?

    • if not, use a funnel

  • I know this works on petrol and flammable liquids.

I wonder if this is OK to use with ACETONE? or Methanol?

I also wonder if this will work on thick oils? or Silicone?

so its definite that it wont start up fire? I mean this products is SPARK PROOF?

  • http://dynamixindusties.com.au/ does not seem to exist? new seller on ebay with low feedback?

    sounds hell dodgy to me

dosnt ebay deals need to have ABN's etc?

    edit:
    http://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&u…

and in the negs on ebay seems may not even come from aus? plus heaps of other dodgy replies to the negs.

Here is a similar (same?) product on amazon for some reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Sierra-Battery-Operated-Liquid-Transfe…

This is what would worry me unless a rep has some better info on their one: "This product is not UL rated for flamable liquids. It has no vapor seal and the electrical components are exposed to the entry of flamable vapors when turning it off/on and while running. It is dangerously defective in its design and can lead to an explosion and horrible burns in normal use. It is irresponsible to sell this pump for use with flamable liquids."

Edit: i am going to neg this. Sounds dangerous and from the feedback it is dropshipped from HK. Seller doesnt list anything about being a registerd business either.

    • Nice find Duff! I read some of the other Amazon reviews on that one and although mixed and probably still worth the build quality risk I'm definitely not willing to risk an explosion due to it not being 100% spark-proof. Not worthy of a Neg from me but yeah this shouldn't be advertised as a pump for fuels.

  • these pumps suck.

    • So do you

  • I guarantee that this is not intrinsically safe, therefore is not allowed to be used as described.

    Neg from me.
