  • Everything $5?

    • Most likely everything as it says 'all'. :P

    • +1

Suprised this time - usually the exclusion lists are always longer than the deal itself - eg super Saturday sales :)

    • At Parramatta, even the box sets were $5

    • +2

Yeah but the stock left now is b-grade films and CDs like a gazillion copies of Big Momma's house 3 (yes they made 3), SilverChair's Neon Ballroom and even old school XMas carols that Daily Telegraph used to give away for free. It's basically three big trolley style dump bins in the HiFi section full of DVDs and CDs and like 6 blue rays. If you happen to be near by, check it out but DO NOT GO OUT OF YOUR WAY for this sale, you'll be very disappointed. Like I was when I went to the Sydney CBD Myer!

  • +2

CD’s, DVD’s & Blu-rays available Melbourne City, Adelaide City, Belconnen, Blacktown, Brisbane City, Brookside, Castle Hill, Chatswood, Eastland, Hurstville, Knox City, Launceston, Macquarie, Maroochydore, Miranda, Morley, Northland, Pacific Fair, Parramatta, Penrith, Perth City, Roselands, Southland, Sydney City, Toowoomba, Warringah and Wollongong

  • Anyone seem to know if they put stock out progressively or just as much as can fit?

    • +2

Everything we have should be out.

  • +5

lets see whats left. Most places have probably been picked clean already. For all the good stuff.

    • +2

sorry this should be a positive vote but using phone and pressed the wrong side and don't know how to change it. Agreed on your comment, slim pickings will be left or Breaking Dawn lol

      • +3

        +'d for you

  • PAC fair had nothing left apart from DVDs and CDs no blurays that were even worth anything

  • +1

Myer Melbourne City had about 6 racks left when I went there last weekend. Unfortunately, nothing piqued my interest. I was quite amused to see a Smurfs complete set, though ;-)

  • +6

You can FORGET about Sydney City for anything BLU.

It's been stripped - only utter crap left !!!!!

Gotta 'hand' it to those folk whom must have hidden stuff away. I was in there yesterday just having a look around (unknowing about today's sale) to see what was left. At the registers a few guys had titles that I hadn't even seen on the shelves !! And of course there's the staff keeping titles under the counter.

    Anyway… that's about it for MYER CD/DVD/Blu in Sydney…………. adios !!

    • +2

thanks, saved me a trip into the city at lunch time…

      • Ditto!

        • -1

          double ditto

        • triple ditto

        • quadruple ditto

        • +1

If you are after a LAUGH - go to David Jones market street and check out their utterly terrible Blu-ray 'discounts'. Twilight's Launter in ABDUCTION / Blu-ray - on 'special' at $39.99 !! Then again - it's not worth the visit to the 7th Floor.

  • +1

Everything that the stores have should be out on the floor. The reason for the sale only excluding box sets? Myer is stopping selling DVDs and CDs, like we did with games a few months ago.

Not many stores will have stock though, I know my store has 5 tables left, and that's it.

    Have fun getting a bargain!

Edit: my store is Brookside, for those in north Brisbane.

Commando on Blu Ray and you say don't come! Thats a Schwarzenegger classic!

      • The photos are there and only a few titles left, not worth the trip :) so if you want to come you come, just want to save you time and petrol :)

  • +3

My local Myer still sells video games in consoles… at 2006 pricing for 2007 titles :(

    • This is an example of why Myer is going down the gurglar.

  • Got 6 blu rays from Wollongong. Still a fair bit left over, but i got everything that i could see was good.

  • Nothing much left in Canberra Myer city store. just 10-12 'Sex and the city-2' and coulple of other no namers.

  • Anyone know if there's anything left in Macquarie Centre, NSW?

    • I was there at the end of the last one and all the good stuff was gone. Don't know whether they've brought more stock from the back since then though…

    • 2 weeks ago there was plenty of stock. Last weekend they had the nerve to have a $5 bluray/dvd/cd table, $10 table and $15 table.

can't imagine there being much left at Macquarie, but if someone could let us know!

      • +1

Just came back from Macquarie, there's not much Blu (I got Ice Age 1 & 2, Alvin Chipmunks 1 & 2) but still alot of DVDs, most are crap though i did pick up Season 5 and 6 of the Smurfs for $5 each

  • Awesome. Work day where there's no chance for me to get there.

    Good deal none the less.

edit: Actually, the local Myer doesn't even stock movies and CDs from memory so not being able to get there isn't an issue.

  • Went to Myer in Perth city. Wasnt even worth the 2 min walk

    • it was great the first time they had this offer, there was heaps of stock and I grabbed quite a few bargains!

  • Myer Norflands was stripped bare, not really worth the effort

    • I was down in Melbourne last week - and visited a few Myers….. Northlands had barely anything there after the first sale.. not worth the climbing up several floors to find that section….

… Southlands had plenty of good Blu titles left

… Werribee nothing - there was one small cardboard stand on the Saturday

…. the Melb City store was cleaned out of Blu-rays on the Saturday

That's it folks - Nothing to see … move on…..

  • No good BR at Myers Parramatta, unless you like twilight.

  • fairly bare now at warringah mall, some stock left if you like movies like brokeback mountain

  • +1

I still don't know how this deal got 23 "+" votes (at the time of writing this)

    Maybe they were anticipation votes?

  • +2

Not a great deal of variety at Brisbane CBD. Grabbed two blu-ray's, two DVD's (Including the Second City TV Box Set - 6 Disc) and a CD. It's all the typical clearance stock, still, can't complain for $5.

    • Did they have many CDs?

      • +2

Basically an entire table of CD's, but there weren't all too many great ones (depends on your tastes I guess). Lets just say I saw well over ten copies of a Reece Mastin album.. shudders.

        • Thanks, I might give it a miss then :)

  • +1

Just got back from Adelaide city store.

    I got a few good blurays…
    AvP 2 (a few left)
    Diehard 4.0 (last one)
    Walking tall (a couple left)
    2fast 2furious (a couple left)
Metallica, slayer, medadeth,Anthrax live from Sofia. (a couple left)

    The rest was junk (IMO)…
    big momas house
    smurfs (lots of them)
twilight (no idea what movies, looked like 2 different ones)
harry potter (2 different ones. sorry not sure what they were)
    boogie nights.
Tekken (probably shit but a few copies there)

lots of music cd's though. i didn't look through them but i got 2 ACDC boxsets for my brother.

    Level 3 by the escalators.

    • Thanks for the info I should of have gone to the CBD instead

  • Myer Morley was picked clean at the last sale you'd be lucky if there where a handful of Australian idol CDs left, actually come to think of it you wouldn't be ;p

  • Myer Parramatta was great
    I got that 70's show season 2-8
    breaking bad season 2-4
    30 rock season 5
    come fly with me
    and angel season 2-5

    all for $80 so happy

  • Myer at Macquarie Centre North Ryde only had 35 blu-ray left when I left about 1 hour ago. Stuff like Broken back Mountan (plenty left), Anastacia, Rocky, rocky balboa, walking tall, daredevil, Open season 1 & 2, aliens in the Attic, chipmunks 1 & 2, Ice age 1 & 2, AVP 1 & 2, harry potter and harry potter 7 part 1, walking tall, big momas house, 2fast 2furious from what I can remember and a few others that I didn't want. Still a few good CD left.

    • Harry Potter 7! Better than the Sydney one. THey had like 6 Blu Rays of Big Momma's house 3. I was so sad. I walked there for nothin'

Today or tomorrow? Seems like today. Could be a bit late by now

While there are a number of DVDs and CD's at Chatswood, there are NO Blu-rays. Not one. Disappointed. Also the DVD's arent new movies either. Not sure if thats because they sold out fast, but whatever's left isnt something I'd even want for free.

  • Myer Perth City have only a few blu-ray and DVD.

  • Don't know why myer is stopping selling dvd's. They just needed to take note of jbhifi and see how they do it, good prices to start with, really good range, easy to find and good service and you will sell dvd's. Now 1 more reason not to visit myer

    • yeah seems a strange decision. myer is terrible these days, way too expensive and the range of mens clothes just gets worse and worse

    • It probably takes a lot of effort to build up a catalogue that will drive consumers there, and lower prices would mean lower profit per an item so they'd have to be sure they will sell a lot more to compensate.

Myer's probably done the math and worked out that the floor real estate (JB's aren't small stores) and staff overheads associated with stocking these sorts of items isn't worth it compared to something else they can put there.

Add to that, Myers demographic might make competing with JB somewhat difficult, as I'm guessing JB has a much easier time appealing to younger people or those that wouldn't necessarily buy clothes or anything else at Myer.

  • Went to Myer Belconnen ACT today. Didnt even know the sale was on. Kids got Smurf set season 5 and 6, Pokemon Chronicles and Pokemon Sinnoh League Victors for $5 per boxed set. Thry have price sticker at $20 each set! Oh well.. It's great for school holiday!

Checked in Melbourne City Myer at around lunchtime - be sure to check both Level 6 & 7 as there are quite a few DVDs / CDs left. Pirates of the Caribbean 1, 2, Pokemon Movie 11, 12, Predator 1, 2 were the only decent abundant copies I saw there… apparently the P section was ignored in the hey day.

Managed to scoop the following items from the tray, including a renegade Wii game which amazingly evaded the massive game clearance sale in Nov and scanning hands until now. Store employee tried to get it checked yet eventually billed it along with the other $5 items.

    • Cracking the Da Vinci Code (Doc)
    • Pokemon Movie 12: Arceus and the Jewel of Life
    • Prophets of Science Fiction (Doc)
    • Samurai Warriors 3

Called the store in Doncaster and they have around 15 Blu-Rays left as of 3:45pm, with the regular stack / trays of DVDs and CDs. Definitely call in to check up on stock though, could be a mad rush around EOB.

Bought AVP2 and Garfield2 blu-ray not much to select.

Just want to buy something because of $5.
