I'm in the process of dropping substantial weight. I'm currently an XL and I'll be a M to L when I'm done. However, there has been a death in the extended family and I'm looking for something to wear at a funeral. Any suggestions on who has the best bargains right now? I don't particularly want to look completely cheap but don't want to spend big on something I plan on wearing only two or three times.

Saba has extra 40% off sale items, picked up a work shirt for $24 yesterday.
The Mens Shop if they have any cheap suit deals on. Just buy something tight fitting, and in a couple months it will be the perfect fit.
Or alternatively if you don't mind wearing second hand clothes you can try your local vinnies or salvation army. That way you support a great cause at the same time.

We had the same situation just recently. If you have a Harris Scarfe in your area, then you will probably find something suitable. I assume you have dress shoes and a tie. I bought my husband business pants about $35 and a business shirt for a little less. However, there were also some decent black chinos which were $19 I think, which would still look smart whilst new - not sure how they would stand up to a few washes. If you are okay with wearing a short sleeved shirt and no tie, there were also some for about $20.
I think you will find that as long as you are neat and clean, most people will not even notice what you are wearing. It doesn't have to be all black, just as long as it is modest and respectful.
