$699 Perth (PER) to Beijing (PEK) Return on China Southern - Available on Zuji

70

I just came across what I think are great prices for flights from Perth to Beijing, in the best time of the year (weather wise) to visit the area - September. Sorry I can't check all the other possible dates, feel free to add your find to the comments.

Edit: actually, if you are careful to specify your return option those flights are shown on Adioso, that might be the quickest way to find dates that suit you.

What I did though: I checked other cities. If you want to explore China and travel overland a bit it is easy to fly back from several other destinations at very little extra cost ($22 extra to return from Shanghai or Chengdu). Just use the 'multi-leg' option to make the booking.

Have fun!

  • nice find. we traveled in September last year and the cost was over $1k because we didn't booked early.

some words of advice, September and October is the holiday season in china, so it is really.. really crowded.

Avoid visiting tourist attractions like Great Wall and Forbidden City during the Moon Cake festival on Sep 19th-21st and National Day - Oct 1st to Oct 7th this year unless off-course you're into crowded area stuff.

Any time in China is really really crowded in the places you mentioned

      • I was at the wall in November/December and it was not crowded.

  • I cant seem to find anything cheaper than $879, what dates did you get?

  • Just be aware there have been rumours the last couple of weeks about China Southern pulling out of Perth.

    • Thanks for that link. Interesting read.

Since those have only been rumours and in part they have been proven wrong (the fact that flights can now be booked well past March documents that a decision in favour of Perth must have been made), I am quite willing to take the risk though.

Most likely outcome, given they now accept bookings: the flight takes place as planned
Second most likely outcome: they cancel their flights and re-book me on a different airline. I would certainly enjoy flying Singapore Airlines or Cathay Pacific at Southern China price :-)
Third most likely outcome: they cancel the flights and issue a refund. Not sure if that would be legal for them to do. Even then nothing is lost except some time and hassle…

Re flying with Southern China: I have used them last year on a trip to Europe and except for somewhat limited language skills found the service I received at the same level I would get from Qantas. Not up there with Emirates or Singapore Airlines of course.
