Lexar Thor OC DDR5 RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) 6000MHz XMP 3.0 & AMD Expo CL32 $129.81
every few days there's a kit of 6000 EXPO on sale
48 scares me because it's not a power of 2
im willing to embrace the new numbers :D
aslong as the price is rightThat peculiar number of 96GB was only chosen at the time because manufacturers couldn't fit 64GB on a standard sized SIMM given the memory chips available at the time. More was better, and they could fit 48GB, so, hey presto, 48GB SIMMs were manufactured.
They could have run 4x 32GB SIMMs, but the more SIMMs the CPU has to drive the slower the maximum speed they could be run at.
How does one get it for $139.47? I only get 5% discount…..
