This stuff is well in the category of magic potions for engines. Some will accept it does something. Others won't. One can does a standard car engine and is supposed to last 50,000 km's. Gets good reviews (though these days there are so many YouTubers reviewing stuff they've been given it's hard to know who to trust). There's also the 'I spent $XX on this stuff it must be good (or I'm a gullible fool)' factor.

I have an EV and use this regularly in it.

    It is truely amazing stuff.

It adds more HP and torques. Decreases fuel consumption and I'm happy that I'm doing my bit to reduce climate warming.

Fairly certain he's taking the piss mate, if not they may be one of those who also puts diesel the EV boot just so they can have a dopamine hit/sniff at the servo.

Remove the small cap next to the blinker fuild reservoir.

Make sure you don't add it to the blinker fluid, or your indicators are going to flash like crazy! I've seen plenty of old cars on the road whose owner's made that mistake.

I add mine to the wiper fluid for cleaner glass

    • 🤣

Climate change these days. Climate warming is out of fashion

      • I support global change. Global warming is so 2000s.

        • it is called global boiling now,

  • How does this compare to their engine oil?

    • Not sure if that's the one also mentioned below. I couldn't watch all of it the whole way through. His methodology makes no sense and explanations terrible. Mixing way too much additive in whatever that clear oil is in a beaker! What does that show?

I'd be more convinced if he used the correct ratio in a normal oil and used something resembling engine parts being rubbed together, then tested the parts.

      • He addressed that in the video at the 2:08 mark. The base oil adds nothing, it simply changes dilution so the ratio is unimportant for what they are testing for in the lab. And he did include some correct ratio samples as a sanity check.

the motor oil geek, lake speed jrn does a review on this amongst others on you tube. it's worth looking at prior to purchase.

    It’s very good.
In an old BMW e39 with 220k on it.
    Car runs like a dream.

    • Agreed, it's good stuff and makes a noticeable and long lasting effect with the engine running smoother and quieter.

WHERE DO WE GET THESE PLACEBOS

  • Will it not build up in those tiny oil passages of modern cars? Timing solenoids?

  • +2

Fuel additive yes, oil additives definitely 100% no, in many cases you dilute and reduce performance of your current oil. Your literally trying to play chemist on a whim.

    • 300ml of oil additive in 5+L isn’t going to change anything

  • +1

    Used this on a 2002 3.9l V8 jaguar engine.

Definitely made the car run quieter and felt smoother to drive.

Whether or not that's a good thing for the engine, I have no clue, but I would hazard a guess it is.

I doubt it lasts 50k kms though, after two oil subsequent oil changes, it would mostly be gone.

As per this it works but probably isn't the best product out there.

    • +4

That still seems pretty anecdotal. None of these Youtubers seem to understand how to test scientifically which is what is required for these small improvement products.

  • Can anyone share some thoughts on ftc decarbonizer if you have used it.
Looking to buy bigger size if the reviews stand correct.
    TIA 🙏

I have and i got the oil flush stuff as well and its nothing special i got no difference with decarbonizer and i did 2 oil changes back to back with the oil stuff and it came out black both times. But its a diesel outback so its always black anyway and ive used nearly every product available in the fuel so if its clean already i dont think it would do anything. If you have a car that's done 200k and never had any additives go give it a try but i wouldn't if you use something regular buy something cheaper.
