As many of the US Usenet providers (Astraweb, Blocknews, …) take down quite quickly, it can be useful to have a back-up in Europe.
I tried tweaknews out who offer a 10 day / 10 GB free trial.
At the end of the trial, I received an email inviting me to sign-up and they offer either 3 months for 9 Euro or a 250 GB Block account for 11 Euro - normally 30 Euro (which I went for as it should only be needed as a back-up).
Can't guarantee that you'll receive the invite for the reduced rate sign-up, but as its free, its worth a shot
I got the same offers, suspect they're standard for those that take the trial and don't sign up for anything else during the trial period.
I was sent 3 options -
10Mbit, 10 thread, 3 months €9.95
50Mbit, 30 thread, 3 months €17.95
250GB block, 100Mbit, no expire €11
They don't specify but I'm guessing it's probably 40 threads on the block accounts.
