  • I am confused, so they have Zone and King pin cards as well but they all say they can be used at timezone as well. So I assume it's all the same card or not?

Can any of these cards be used to play bowling? (at Zone/kingpin)

I have a timezone card and was told at Zone you can't use the credit for bowling but to offer a Zone card that can't be used for bowling seems misleading.

The T&Cs for all cards says:
The credit balance on this Powercard is redeemable for game use at Timezone, Zone Bowling and Kingpin venues within Australia only.
A Powercard cannot be used for birthday party deposits, to purchase time play packages, to purchase gift cards or to acquire Timezone goods and/or services online.

    So is Bowling a 'game'?

    • Not sure. When I rang in Jan, it may be possible.
      Someone mentioned no.

@trixieb @Yabadabadoo I just called and was told that you can use the Zone Bowling card at Timezone and vice versa (so they are all the same card but with different picture) but that none of the cards can be used for bowling, laser tag or the bumper cars. Agent had to go and confirm with her boss several times and apparently that’s the deal, you can use the cards for anything apart from those 3 things.

        • I used it for bumber cars a few times LOL and FYI it can be used for Timezone bowling (usually short lane or small ball version).
Crazy it's not in the terms that it can't be used for regular bowling games (especially of the zone/kingpin branded ones) .

          • @Yabadabadoo: Yeah they might be a bit crazy it seems if they don’t even know what they’re selling. Either that or they keep changing the terms lol

    • I just called and they confirmed NO you can't use the credit for bowling, which I find very misleading as looking at the Zone bowling power card site (https://www.zonebowling.com/en-au/bowling-activities/double-…) it's not mentioned at all and bowling is called 'games' as in how many games of bowling.

Who would expect loading credit on to a Zone Bowling card couldn't be used for bowling at Zone Bowling??? LOL The non bowling games I have seen at Zone are from the timezone in the same building so not sure why you need a Zone Bowling Power card.

Holding until we get this, the $20 app voucher and a 10% off Timezone Gift cards deal all simultaneously

    • +1

It already happened last month and I missed it *crying face

      • Discounted Timezone gift cards with Ultimate gift cards at Woolworths. The $20 offer just ended on 30th March.

        • How can I use the Ultimate gift card, there is no option on Timezone app to redeem a gift card, and there is no expiry date on the GC so I use it that way

          • +1

@Aminn: Solved! I ended up adding it to my apply pay and pay it that way

Great value. Last time I took my two nephews and my niece with the $200 card for $80 deal I’m not joking that thing got thrashed for hours, even us four adults were playing some games too and that card just kept going and going. It lasted longer than us, still having some credit on it when we left.

not sure how/what you play. My 9yo can burn through $100/hr without breaking a sweat

      • These guys are a little bit younger. Tthey took turns playing games but it didn’t stop getting used that whole time.

      • I'd like to see them play through 25 credits of DDR in one hour without breaking a sweat 😆

    Casino for kids.

    • +2

Exactly my thoughts! Get'em hooked early, seems to be the moto.

  • still have $600 worth of credit, i keep buying when these deals come.

    • Credit expires

      • +2

Will expire 12 months from the last in-venue use date.

        • so after 11 months, i can use it and gain another 12 months?
i pretty much go every school holiday with the kids, and sometimes during the weekend of the school year.

i also have iplay, is that the same thing? i can't remember the last time i went to iplay, and i have a bunch of credit there too. :(

          • @Hugh G Rection: Yes, TimeZone powercard credit expirey gets refreshed back to 12 months when the card is either loaded or used.

iPlay specifies on their card and on their website that loading the card gives you 12 months to use the credit, but makes no mention of that expirey being renewed on use of the card.

  • wish they have the 250 for 600 deal again :(

i hate it how some machines scan and don't do anything… staff don't care or know what to do

    • +4

They'll compensate you with some free taps if you head up to the desk and let them know the problematic machine

      • yea, exactly. or find a worker walking around to assist you. they usually give you extra too. lol

  • +2

Took the kids recently and all the prize redemption amounts have gone up heaps… Inflation!

    • Plus reduced ticket prizes as well. Space invaders used to be 500 tickets prize. Now it’s only 150!

      • Still 500 where I am. Maybe someone was playing the crap out of it and the store owner didn't like it

  • +1

How often are these double credits? It seems to happen monthly?

    • Yeah it's almost every 4 weeks on the dot, with some variation depending on school holidays and public holidays

  • I do the time play, 60 mins for $35 mins. Share the card between 3 kids. It has a 45 second wait so no 1 v 1 and no tickets/prizes. Works out to $11.66 per child. If no one has whinged I will treat them to a teddy/plush toy from aliexpress.

  • does this have any value for a grown man? I'm on leave and looking for interesting things to do on the occasional day and I live near a TimeZone.

    • +1

I get value out of maximising the tickets won per dollar spent. With enough patience and the right machines you can get tickets at the rate of roughly 1000 tickets per real life dollar spent. Then you redeem them for a console (see https://www.timezonegames.com/en-au/prizes/ for ticket costs) and sell that online.

It's slow, but it means you get to play Timezone games with a healthy profit margin.

      • Thanks for thoughtful response.

Not sure if this has been asked but how does the loading credits on the Timezone Fun App work? Do you show credits on the app for a physical card?

    • You enter in the powercard number and CCV into your Timezone Fun App, and then from then on, your app holds a digital copy of that powercard. From there you can load or spend credits from the powercard in your app as if it you had the powercard with you.

Additionally, the app allows you to load credits onto your powercard online, including taking advantage of double dollars deals outside of Timezone opening hours.

  • Any subsequent bonus must be loaded on a single Powercard.

What the heck does this mean? Does it impact buying for two kids? Do I need to bring a hat and mustache?

    • +1

It means you can't spend the minimum of $60 and then ask for half of the game credits to go onto one powercard and the other half to go on another powercard.

  • +1

fyi this is showing in the app as being available saturday 12th AND SUNDAY 13th.

    • Now extended for 2 days! Score Double Dollars on 12 & 13 April 2025.

      Thanks. Updated post.
