Why are you shouting I'm right here :-P

      • +1

        +1 for the humour

      • too excited LOL

  • do you need the playstation move or anything??? just the ps3?

    • don't need playstation move, connects via a bluetooth dongle

      • how come ebgames is working on a sat night ;)?

        • helping follow ozbargainers out without pay!!!!!! haha

  • Can anyone, who owns this, comment on it?

    • works fine, great for casual gaming if you don't want to set up a racing wheel system with a chair, and quite comfortable

      • there are a few comments here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Loc_mSI6WPc) saying that the throttle has a binary response. Is it true?

        • +1

Just got one and tried it in GT5. Out of the box, the throttle response feels very much binary. But after some exploring with button assignments, found out that that is because the default setting maps the levers to the action buttons instead of L2/R2. So what you need to do is to change it on the controller itself (i.e. hold start and select buttons for 5 secs). Note that you will also need to change the button assignments for brake and accelerator in the game settings too.

After 20+ mins of gameplay, I have to say its definitely playable in GT5 and offers a step up in terms of how you control the car compared to the stock PS3 controller (e.g. changing gears using your middle finger while on full throttle or brake using your index finger). However, it is still nowhere near the precision you can have with a full featured racing wheel like the G27!

  • Oh man, out of stock as I clicked on 'Place Order'!

  • +1

Just tried to order online. Out of stock :(

    • just go in to your local eb games store tomorrow to buy it from there!

  • Brought this one week ago in store. I'd thought $28 was the original price, now realise it had been discounted.

    • Any thoughts on using it? hows the throttle response?

      • +1 here would like to know. :)

      • haven't started using it yet, cus currently I don't have any racing game, bought it just because the price is good. Ordered a racing game yesterday, will post a review ASAP.

    Is this made by Sony
    Or third party?

    • Third party

  • Is this a controller based wheel that is compatible with any PS3 games?

    • yes, it's pretty much a PS3 controller with the X/Y axis detected using the accelerometer instead of the joysticks

  • -8

    Realistic?

Because every car/kart I have driven is steered by a Frisbee…

I also thought that $28 is around what you would expect for an average quality 3rd party console accessory.

    • +3

You vote base on what you "thought" the price of an item is?

Seriously….show us where to find this item similarly priced or cheaper please. How much you value the item should not be reason for a neg.

      • -3

I negged it due to false advertising, this is a realistic as a unicorn.

Hell, this would be a better buy http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PLAYSTATION-PS3-CAR-GAME-RACING-S…

        • LOL neg for advertising? So when Apple used taglines like "This changes everything. Again." (2010) iPhone 4….and "There's an app for that. That's the iPhone. Solving life's dilemma one app at a time." (2008) Used in their ad for the iPhone 3G.

Again..that is your personal opinion on the quality of the product vs the advertising.

You're not even comparing like to like. That link you gave is an accessory that requires a sixaxis controller to operate…that's adding another $40-$70 to cost…so it's not cheaper than the item we are talking about here.

Just because I think a different product is a better buy does not mean the price of this product is not a bargain…if you don't think the product is any good, leave a comment about your experience with the product…not neg based on zero evidence…if you've seen the product cheaper elsewhere…post here and neg. As a community we are here to share bargains (based on pricing).

  • Sorry. One more question, does it have built in rechargeable battery or on AA or AAA batteries?

    • one AA battery

      • correction. uses 2 AA batteries. I noticed it has a mini USB port at the back so maybe it can charge the batteries if you use rechargeables?

EDIT: ahh.. Ibuyonlineonly beat me to it. However, he said micro USB which is incorrect. Its a mini USB which means you can use the same cable that came with the stock PS3 controller. (The wheel doesn't come with any cable btw)

  • Thanks. Will see if my local EB has it and hope there is 7 days satisfaction guarantee on it..

  • Takes 2 x AA batteries. I just got one from underwood Qld store. They had a few more left..
Will test it out later. Has a micro USB port which I am assuming is to charge it, but can't confirm as instructions do not mention.

    • I wonder if its able to be successfully added to the playstation like a controller, and not use the usb adaptor?.

Or perhaps on some systems ie could it be used for pc or non wireless?

  • +1

Come on ppl test out your controller and let us know how it performs :)

  • JB is price matching if you show them EBs website

  • +1

Apologies, yes it's mini USB. I always get them mixed up. Anyway tested this tonight with GT5 and works great. My arms got a bit tired at one stage so I swapped to using the arrow keys instead of physically turning the wheel.
Build quality is excellent and comparable to genuine controllers IMHO. At this price I would be happy to get one as a spare controller. Has all the buttons a six axis has. So ppl, go get one :)

  • My local EB said they did not carry this item as they are just a small not a full sized EB store.

  • Tried to get this last night online but it said instore only. Planned to go to local store 2day but just clicked on the link to take a screen printout (incase). And it showed the Add to cart button!!! Happily completed the checkout. then went back to reading the specs on the description page and the price is up again to $69.28 and says instore only…
so I guess this is now expired. I just hope my order gets delivered….

  • Rep, please mark expired if it is back to$69 now.

    • no, still $28
check the website link again, and also you may get this at the store at $28 still as of today

      • it has gone back to $28 AND is now available to order online (again!)
