    Hungary?
I think the EU regrets admitting them now.

Why? They’ve been doing some great stuff lately.

  • Too big for the airplane

I flew on SQ, MH, TG, CX, and GA with an 81cm cosmolite, no issue.

    • I've flown 10 years with 81 cm… Never had any domestic or international airline (and thats all over Europe, Australia, Japan, Indonesia, USA, Singapore) have an issue with this size. Maybe African airlines?

I bought a no name suitcase in Hungary for $50 over 15 years ago. Still rolling!

  • 81cm is huge. Shame the 75cm isn't a similar price.

  • Is this ROXKIN material better than polycarbonate?

    Thanks to GPT
ROXKIN™ (used in Samsonite's Proxis line) is a proprietary material made of multi-layered thermoplastic sheets. It’s marketed as lightweight, resilient, and able to bounce back from dents like it’s emotionally healthy. Samsonite claims it offers a good mix of flexibility, durability, and strength, and it’s designed to resist cracking from impacts. Bonus: it looks all sleek and futuristic, like something Batman would pack socks in.

Polycarbonate, on the other hand, is the OG of hard-shell suitcase materials. It’s tough, impact-resistant, and widely used across brands—from budget to premium. It’s known to flex on impact (in a good way), but over time it can develop cracks, especially if it’s thin or poorly manufactured.

    Which is better?

Durability: ROXKIN wins slightly. It’s newer tech, and designed specifically to outlast the bruising lifestyle of frequent flyers.

Weight: ROXKIN is typically lighter than polycarbonate, which could mean an extra pair of socks or three almonds.

Price: Polycarbonate is usually cheaper. ROXKIN comes at a “please don't ask the price” premium.

Aesthetics: ROXKIN has that smooth, high-end feel. Polycarbonate is more "I'm just here to survive baggage claim."

So yes, ROXKIN is technically better… but only if you want to pay more to feel slightly superior to other travelers.
