Thanks @Zenyth.. the link you linked to is a different product. The strap slippage issue is for the Bellroy Transit Workpack Backpack. Not this pack, this pack is the Bellroy Transit Backpack.

Forgive me for not properly reading, I'll unpublish my comment!

          NP. Thank you.

For those who were curious, I incorrectly claimed that this bag had the same bag slippage issue as the Bellroy Transit Workpack Backpack previously linked in this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/887796. Thanks for the correction, Rushfaster team.

don't blame ya, their product line has gotten confusing

          transit workpack
          transit workpack pro
          transit backpack
          transit backpack plus
          transit travel pack
          transit travel pack pro

and they all look similar 😅

    Weight: 1.1 kg btw

    • Is that considered heavy?

      • -1

        For the price, yeah.

        • 1.1 for this category is actually pretty good. There are lighter, but this one is on the lighter side of the spectrum.

          • @RushfasterAu: 1.1 kg is definitely not on the lighter side of the spectrum. It's even bordering the weight of rugged laptop backpacks.

            • +8

@marshmall0w2: it sure is… we've done our research - in this grade of bag, for travel, 1.1 is not bad at all. Look at this one, it's 1.77kg https://rushfaster.com.au/products/aer-travel-pack-3-x-pac

              • @RushfasterAu: I got this one (AER X-PAC) from you guys for my Europe trip last year, it was heavy but you knew it was good quality. It meant for me you can do one big backpack and one luggage for five weeks. My wife got this one (Bellroy) and the feedback was (a) it didn't have the luggage loop (b) the water bottle was internal rather than external space making it hard to fit in the bottle.

            • +2

@marshmall0w2: It's for those on jetstar bogan express to Bali. Can't afford to pay for luggage so need a sizable bag to shove everything in.

      • only if you dont lift

        • Bro doesn’t lift

  • Anyone know if it has the trolley sleeve / strap to sit on top of suitcase?

    • full video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-OPv6uU35I
from what I can see, no luggage passthrough.

    • No luggage handle passthrough. It's a well built bag. I used it as a carry on for airline travel and now as a nappy bag when travelling.

      • Thanks for the confirmation.

  • Size looks like huge for a work bag in the video. It's four times the size of his head.

    • +1

      it's a travel backpack.

what's the " slight product damage as described. "

All I can see is that its "aged stock" ?

Need to be clearer I feel, otherwise the non-returnable exemption is invalid

    • this is just an old model. the product is perfect

    • We changed it to be more clear. Thank you!

PLEASE READ, OUTLET STOCK: This gear is non-returnable unless it differs from this description or is otherwise returnable under Australian consumer law. Condition of this product: This product is on Outlet due to being a discontinued model.

    • If you read the description on the product listing, it's a little bit clearer. The disclaimer is something I believe they mark against all Outlet items, and then they usually specify exactly why the product is considered outlet stock at the end of the comment. In this case, there's no damage that is described, and the only reason they've put against the product to classify it as outlet stock is indeed that it is 'aged stock'. Rushfaster customer service has a fantastic rep and I'm sure they would help sort out a solution if the product condition one receives isn't consistent with the description.

Ahhh, was caught up writing my comment, happy to see this already answered.

@Zenyth thank you so much. Yes, we will look after our customers, we aren't other retailers. So to clarify, product is brand new packaged stock, just a discontinued model so we moved to outlet to clear old stock and focus the bellroy brand page on the new gear they are releasing.

  • good bag. paid around $300 a year back. I find the only issues are that the water pouch is small and won't do a yeti bottle. also that the shoulder traps can slip easily

  • Are there any other options that are weatherproof/tearproof and travel-friendly?
I just want a durable backpack that I can stow in an airline overcab to avoid checked baggage expenses.
So far, I only found the AER Travel Packs (particularly X-Pac and ULTRA), but I’m wondering if any bag can match the durability and form-factor of that bag?

    • TBH. the Aer travel pack 3 in ultra is ftw. I'd be looking at that or xpac.

    • Check out the Cotopaxi travel packs

  • Need to discount some Thule gear!

    Selling fast. Thanks yall.

Was browsing the site and saw this Bellroy sling for $89. I have never seen the black marked down so low in the past. Probably deserves a separate post OP.

    https://rushfaster.com.au/products/bellroy-sling-outlet-stoc…

    • that deal is solid tbh.

  • How long ago was the newer model of this same bag released?

Is this the one some reviews say isn’t very comfortable in terms of the shoulder - or is it an improved model?

    • This is the old (first gen) obsolete model

      • Mmmm…. If the shoulder straps aren’t too comfortable it would make carrying that weight not terrific. Anyone got one of these already in Canada? Give an opinion on how they travel?

        • Personally have used this bag and it’s not bad comfort wise. #biastnotbiast

          • @RushfasterAu: Haha. Fair enough. So not bad but not great is how I read that. Oooh, I’m on the fence. Ticks a lot of boxes but carrying comfort is naturally a heavily weighted element. No pun intended.

Previously had my eye on the Tomtoc travel backpack to support a trip later in the year but this has a nicer overall aesthetic.

            • @fookos: sorry… missed this. no no… they're great backpacks and comfortable. Sorry i tend to understate things.

  • Didn't need a bag!

    Bought one 😅

    • 😌

  • Have bought a few bags from these guys (belroy tokyo and mystery ranch urban assault) and thought the service was pretty good. Delivery was pretty fast and the products/brands they stocked all seemed moderately to highly recommended in everyday carry/bag communities.

    • Thank you! Thank you! ☺️

  • Nothing beats https://arcteryx.com.au/products/nomin-pack
    Shame it's too expensive :(

    • Even with Afterpay that’s hard.

    • Is this some kind of high end boutique brand or does it have some kind of innovative technology behind it? Why does it cost so much?

      • not boutique but a premium outdoor/mountaineering brand. They genuinely do have have some solid technical gear but have the price tag to match.

They also dip into the fashion/gorpcore market and have the price tags to match there too.

        • +1

Thanks for the explanation, I still don't quite understand how it commands that price tag though, i.e. for luxury products like handbags or watches, you could argue the brand name, hand finishing, and 'innovation' helps push the price tag to where it is, as far as I know, the bag from OP shouldn't have any of those? Based on the description in the link, I don't see anything innovative as the selling point either

  • OOS

  • OP, do you stock the current equivalent model as well?

  • What's on for tomorrow?

  • I watched when there was enough stock. Thinking, reasoning. As I didn’t need one.

Now when Out Of Stock, Damn I missed an amazing deal. Huh.

  • @RushfasterAu Can I ask if a deal for the Bellroy Tokyo Work Bag is coming?

If not, I am just gonna buy from Bellroy directly now.

    • why wouldn't you buy from us?

    • -1

bro wants us to help him out but if we don't he's going to buy it from our competition. It's a little harsh. T_T

      • Because if you don’t have a sale, their one is cheaper

        • We match Bellroy’s prices so if they’re cheaper then we need to change our price. Let me know what price I get and we will match that.

  • Just started hunting for this bag. What a shame!
