Got Yelled at for Bad Driving. Is It Bad?

Hi All,

Normally just lurk around ozbargain and always found the automotive section a good read.

Scenario:
Passed a white car in video that was stationary. Arrived at destination 300meters further and parked the car. Driver of white car stopped alongside our car told us off for bad driving.

I reviewed the video (https://1drv.ms/v/c/bf6fe969e835bfd7/ERWcfPJhVNhGsk_FUlfxcBQ…) and can't see anything wrong actions on our end.

Anyway, I don't want to further influence your opinion, so feel free to share your opinion.

  • You didn't do anything wrong. Had someone yelled at me, I'd have yelled back 2 reasons;

    1// Unacceptable you got yelled at for doing nothing wrong.
    2// If you don't call them out for it, not only will they continue to do this, but it'll get worse.

    I thought you came around the bend a bit fast and probably should have slowed more before getting to the car with the door open - but that's if your wife was a good driver - in this case, a bit risky

    White car is wrong. Poll is dead for some reason.

    Driver of the white car is a loser, it’s simple!!!

    I'd have honked the (profanity) out of that truck driver for opening the door wide open into the road.

  • Take it as a lesson to slow down. Could end up saving $$$ from accidents. Following you 300m to complain is a bit weird but definitely happens. Read another thread where the "rager" followed for close to 30mins.

    I'm not sure what they think you did wrong.

  • I think you just surprised him and he wasn't expecting a car to come along , some people react angry if you frighten them , don't worry you did nothing wrong.

    Just like me yesterday parking in a shopping center carpark I parked my car as usual and as I was walking to the center an old man drives past and says to me " you should be ashamed of yourself " and I have absolutely no idea what he was referring too as far as I know I did nothing to upset him or anything wrong , some people are just very touchy and react in non logical ways.
