    • As long as you push them to honour the advertised price on the Sunday's email you received then everyone would get them!

Remember to combine with discounted GC to make it even a sweeter deal.

  • Anyone here used it and can recommend? getting into VR and considering this for my first headset

    • If you have the $$ get the Q3 @ $799 rather than 3S. Much better lenes. The 3s uses same as Q2 (Fresnel lens) v the Q3 has Pancake lenses. Plenty of comparison video reviews out there to ponder over before deciding.
Having said that even the Q2 is decent if just getting into VR.

      • I would prefer to not spend the price of the q3 tbh (especially since I plan on using it with my PC so my requirements are not high), so more just wondering if it's a good budget option but yeah I'll definitely look into the comparison videos. Cheers.

        • A 2nd hand Q2 is an option if budget is constrained as uses the same lenses as Q3s.

Using PC is neither here nor there as same applies across all versions. The Q3 optics are far better.
Regardless if you own nothing the Q2 is amazing as would be the 3s as a introduction to VR world. Enjoy with whatever you decide on. :-)

          • @Borg: I'm willing to spend the cost of the 3s (+ some accessories) but I find the 3 to just be too much, I'm surprised you're recommending the 2 though because I just feel like it's way too outdated to even be considered, I think the 3s would be an easier choice because of the better processor and other specs.

Appreciate the recommendations though, also if I can ask, do you think any of the accessories are necessary?
They seem pretty pricey but I wonder if something like the elite strap or charging dock for the controllers is worth it in the long term.

            Appreciate your advice.

            • @LiamD: Q2 visually will be the same as Q3s for the most part. Sure the Q3s has more powerful CPU etc but my comment more related to a newbie wanting to get a feel for VR and on a real budget. The Q2 is still decect.

Accessories = A must is a Head Strap as existing are crap. Personally I use a Kiwi Design Comfort Headstrap I don’t bother with battery types as I velcro my own 10000mAh powerbank to rear of it as I have many. The BobOVR headstraps are another decent brand.
I tried to incl Amazon links to show you what ones I mean, but OZB deletes my post saying affiliate links not allowed. Weird indeed! Anyhow just search there.

Either brand is good and plenty of online reviews. They are a must for comfort and balance.

The Q2 came with a Silicon face cover protector but Q3 series don't. I grabbed a cheapie off Aliexpress for $4 as I prefer them and easy to wipe clean rather than getting the existing one dirty. As a visual guide to what I mean, search for…..KIWI design F4 Silicone Facial Cover

Beyond that…..I wont comment as best see how you go with VR and can buy extras later (not that anything else is really needed early on??

              • @Borg: Hmm I see, will definitely look more into the q2 then.

Also appreciate your recommendations on accessories, I had no idea about 3rd party head straps and thought the super expensive meta ones were the only option, glad that these exist.

And yeah I didn't even think about using a powerbank, pretty smart move, I've got one so should be helpful.

Thanks again for the help man, very useful stuff.

                • @LiamD: Look at comparison review vids (as there are plenty out there) and then decide.
Likewise for head straps (which are a must) otherwise the device is uncomfortable and way too front heavy. A 10000mAh battery at back adds nice extra counterweight and doubles the playtime. Enjoy.

  • If you can, kick in for the 3 over the 3s. It's a lot better and if you have a PC, PCVR is amazing… if you're into cars and racing, Sim racing in VR is beyond anything you expect. Truly immersive.

  • Spend more and get the 3 , the S is inferior.

  • Has anyone tried to get the $699 Quest 3 price from the email since?

I've just sent an inquiry over, but may also try in store.

    • Got the email this morning with link, so they are still honoring it.
