Same as my last deal posted before incase you missed out.

For mods, yes this is a duplicate but more than a month old, so you be the judge of that, (as I cannot edit expiry on old deal. and deal actually went OOS, then full price, then now down to sale price)

Used this device personally and it seems very good IMO. Long battery of 10K mAh.
No need to purchase own server, can use their own servers for free. (own servers cost quite a bit of money if its a paid server aka not a trial).
Can confirm it works on telstra network, and optus network, and it more likely than not works with vodafone network too.

Copy from old post

Main highlights include:-

SinoTrack says in listing can use their profession tracking platform sinotracker for lifetime to track this device.
Physical sim slot using micro SIM (thus cheap sim cost may be max $20 needed for 1 year, can be as little as $2-$4 a year IMO, with a Lebara sim)
10,000 mAh battery
Portable can take anywhere, no need of wires
Usb C for charging (way way better than MicroUSB IMO, cause same cable as phone etc.)
Magnetic Back
Can message commands to sim to get useful responses

Compatible with Traccar(traccar.org) using h02 protocol(traccar.org) so port 5013 i believe needs to be open. Traccar(traccar.org) traccar installation guide on a own linux server.
Some Online user Manual I found(manuals.plus)

Extra Stuff might be helpful for finding manual commands(flespi.com)

So yeah over all it is a very good deal IMO. Your costs will be like $54 ish initially + extra $2-$20 annually for sim plan. (THEIR SERVER IS FREE TO USE, or you get your own if you dont want to use their free server). This is quite cheap overall, and very good for non-techy people who dont want to mess around with their own server/server costs etc. Also btw this is quite close to price of an airtag ($49) too but ofc gives better tracking info and more security/privacy (no alerts to nearby users) etc.

Additional tip if you can hide it somewhere with some power connected to it then, you wont have to worry about charging it ever (e.g. connect to usb in car and hide it somewhere in car, then whenever car is turned on its charging automatically).

For the sim plans I suggest

Vodafone network plus also Allows sms and call outgoing barring (disable sms outgoing so as to make sure credit only gets used for data in device)

$7 a year for Lebara sim (pay as you go $5 plan on $2 sim)

Amaysim $10 pay as you regular (optus network)

Aldi $5 +$15 recharge for a year (telstra network)

  • How do you get this?

$15 for 1 year vodafone prepaid plan (on current $45 prepaid sim plan deal on their website)

    • ohh my bad that was a old deal they had it active on their site before.

But honestly speaking you can technically still get it from their site but for $20 a year

      https://www.vodafone.com.au/prepaid/plans

buy the $35 Prepaid Plus Starter Pack for $10
call their customer service team to help in activating sim as $35 payasyougo plan.
Recharge that number $10, confirming with their customer service team on call that will extend to 1 year (as $35 credit becomes $45 credit which is 1 year expiry)

but honestly speaking Lebara is cheapest as little as $2

Perfect valentines gift for the ex girlfriend

  • +4

I bought the 905 recently because the 915 was out of stock. It works great tracking my motorbike. Uses about $0.02/day of ALDI data. Works great.

  • +8

Take a look into 1NCE for the SIM card. $15 for lifetime SIM card.. I use it in my car tracker for like 2 years now. No issues.

    • this deserves a deal of its own!

    • -2

      Why don't use apple tag

    • How much data does your tracker use per month or year?

Also do you know which network/s 1NCE roams to in Australia?

    • +1

      N1ce!

"If a SIM card has used the included volume of 500 MB before the activation period of 10 years is up, it remains activated for a maximum of 18 months from that point on. During this time, the customer has the option to purchase another data volume of 500 MB for another 15 USD. If the customer does not book additional data within these 18 months, the SIM card is automatically deactivated by the system when the eighteenth month is up. "

      • ahh so USD $16 500 MB is only really for 1.5 years only then

still not bad considering 173 countries wide coverage.

          • @xwx: yeah makes sense, wwytech units were so good yeah. i wish i bought more of them beforehand.

but only problem with them is needing to buy/trial own traccar server.

    • thanks for the comment and sharing deal

  • Can someone help me with the comment about "hiding it somewhere"…doesn't this module need to "see" the sky for GPS?

    • If that were the case then anytime you drove into your garage or in a petrol station you'd lose GPS but you don't.

It's all about signal penetration and frequency stuff like that

      • Actually, wouldn't you actually indeed lose GPS when you go into your garage?

    • It also uses Assisted GNSS for positioning

      https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assisted_GNSS

My motorbike has an accurate position when it's parked in my core filled concrete block garage, under 2 levels of house.

    • it just need to be able to receive 4g LTE signals, and ofc have enough charge. (so to block 4g signals you need a super high class faraday cage or something like that, or technically no sim coverage)

What’s the benefit of having this what is your reason? Stolen car maybe?
    Did I read it’s magnetic?
Do you guys hide these as makes sense if used to track your car if stolen and where do you hide them? Under driver or passenger seat perhaps?
Apart from just tracking your car knowing where it’s been what else does it do?
It was mentioned it needs a sim what’s recommended I take my mobile sim is different to this and it uses its own sim?
How long does it last and how long to charge?
What’s the chance of battery going on fire in car which some lithium batteries do or is this not lithium or not an issue here as car can get hot in summer which obviously has pasted.
How long have some of you guys owned this for and have you had any issues?
Does it need updating from time to time.

    • Yes, one use is for stolen cars. In fact, one of the images in their Amazon description ad for this product has a masked dude in a car doing sus stuff.

    • It can track anything really, cars are one of the highest value assets generally in normal person's life that moves often here and there. Btw it can track old data too, so who knows if in future you needed to show proof your car was there that time in day etc. etc it could help that time.

Yes it is magnetic so you can stick it easily to any magnetic part of vehicle, (under car, tight places in trucks, bikes etc etc)

You are best of hiding it in a place where it is not visible to naked eye, I suggest hide it somewhere in car's body, with a hardwired usb cable for charging to it without needing to take it of for charging.

Their website can help monitor and track other vehicle related things to, like ownership details, insurance due, milage etc etc.

Your phone is not a GPS exclusive device, but yes you can use your phone to track phone's location too, then again that will generally drain battery a lot lot more quickly, and phone battery may not be able to tolerate high heat like these devices can. your phone is also probably worth more than $54 too. Btw sim carriers use the same technology to track your phones too, so you kinda get access to their fancy tech of tracking sim with tower signal triangulations etc.

Battery is 10K mAh, 5K mAh lasted me like 23 days in S20 of my old deal, so this should last like 40 days IMO.

Bought last time as i posted it, been good so far.

No need to update anything all server costs is free by sinotrack. just need annual sim data service

  • Would this be suitable to put on my keyring in case I lose the keys?

Seems like a superior option than Tile/Airtag etc especially in an area with a small population/not that many phones to provide signal. This is more bulky & a small extra cost for SIM data but apart from that are there any downsides or reasons not to get it for that use case?

    • +1

It's huge compared to a bluetooth based tracker (airtag, smarttag, tile)

    • +1

Ahh if you want keyring to be size of a thick wallet sure i guess.
      Its quite chunky.

  • Maybe a silly question, but this versus an Apple AirTag in your car or whatever else you want to track. As long as you are in the Apple ecosystem of course.

    • +1

AirTags need nearby Apple devices to be able to report their location, and people’s phones warn them if there’s an AirTag that travels either them for a while, so they know and can start looking for it. I think they can even make a “mystery” AirTag beep to make it easier to find.

So an AirTag is terrible for long term tracking of your stolen car, because if the thief doesn’t have an iPhone you won’t get good locations, and if they do have an iPhone then after a day their phone tells them about your AirTag.

      • Didn't know that. That's quite crap tbh

    • Airtags are airtags

they NEED a apple device which can also hint then getting tracked.
This uses 4g lte sim tracking, so it can be used on a larger area technically as even apple devices need internet (probably cellular connectivity eventually to transmit data over internet). So this removes that need of apple devices, which you wont find everywhere especially overseas, like someone suggested you can buy international sim to track gps internationally also which would be more reliable than apple ecosystem tracking.

  • Does this track live I mean watching it’s movement live as it’s being used or do you need to txt/callit each to see it’s where it is at
Is there an actual YouTube vid on this item to get I better idea

    • According to the video on the Amazon page it has real-time tracking you can watch live.

      • Yep I noticed afterwards already placed order

    • I used their platform vip.sinotrack.com and can confirm that their platform has good UI and tools for tracking

  • Does a $15 365 aldi sim still available as can’t see if available on there site. Found it I take it’s this one https://www.aldimobile.com.au/products/payg?srsltid=AfmBOoqO…

so do you pay in another $10 and your good for a year or have you to keep topping this sim up each month

    • $10 good for year

      • Not sure what you mean I believe Aldi offers 365 day sim which comes with $5 I’m not sure you can charge it another $5?

        • +1

The $5 sim expires in 60 days unless you do a recharge (min $15) then it will have 12 months from the recharge date.
So $20 for 14 months and about 330Mb data if you don't use sms.

          • @iratepirate: I believe this only uses date and very little of it right so what happens if I let sim with $5 run out is it still active? Meaning I don’t need to buy another sim at $5 again.

I don’t know how others said they got a $15 sim as no such thing

            • +1

@bwatt72: You need to recharge once to get 365 days expiry otherwise it will expire in 60 days.

      • $2 is even better with lebara sim

    • Regarding Aldi sims,
its $20 for first 60+365 days of active recharge
      then $15 next year.

But honestly only buy that if you want telstra network, Lebara is cheapest as I said before from just $2 a year possibly, (or may like $6 for 2.5 years something like that if buying a blank $2 sim with $2 Payasyougo credit upon activation on call). Honestly you can get these $2 sims for $1 on special in supermarket at times also.

Other good thing about vodafone network is easy ability to put barring on the sim (so you can ask lebara to restrict outgoing sms, calls that way you ensure all $2 credit is used for DATA AND DATA ONLY). I have done it with Vodafone prepaid $45 payasyougo plan, and Lebara, both good in barring.

Boost and Aldi cannot do such a outgoing sms, and calls barring. Aldi also uses higher $ per GB of data too btw comapred to Lebara who is one of the cheapest for it.

  • I personally use boost with my phone. this sim obviously wil be only for this device it’s even possible I may jump to Aldi after boost expires but I shall see. I know Vodafone and I think Lebara and Optus are all crap reception wise so this these three affect is use? As it’s only for data. I take this device only uses data and nothing else?
In regards to the Aldi one I could end up putting it in an older phone of mine as a spare but not sure.
But if these sims Optus, Vodafone and maybe lebara need good reception to use wit this device then might not be best option of sim for me,

    • it will use sms outgoing credit also by default, if you send it a valid sms command to which it will reply back to.

feel free to use any network sim honestly as that is totally a personal preference, i just laid out cheapest options on each one of them.

      • Ok I never knew this that it can use sms to reply back to you for what reasons would it do that? I personally don’t know a great deal about this tracker.
But be good to track where car is and even live tracking as well what other features I’m not sure what it can do.
But regarding that other sims I mentioned to you if they are not great coverage I suppose this would cause issues tracking etc, I know my area here is not so good with these but maybe are ok futher away.
I tried Optus once years back and it was poor here and I asked others in my area and said not much has changed, I did have Vodafone for a bit but I can’t remember about it, the other one not actually tried them.
I did use boost and have for years as used full coverage Telstra this is obviously for my day to day phone and it was good for remote area at work etc.
So if these sims I told you are not great coverage will it affect the use of this device.

        • Look these barely use any data,

I am sure even if coverage is not good as per your phone usage, it is still probably good enough for tracker. It barely uses like 1kb data at a time, so even if slow or poor coverage it should not impact that much. Unless ofc coverage is totally absent.

          • @USER DC: Ok I may just look into these si,s you mentioned then as lower cost better it is.
