Cheers saw that on the graphics, just need to check these days as total can be misleading (passing off as higher power).

Just seeing if there are any good cheap ones with 45W.

The one I got still probably ok

looks like your old charger is only capable of 15w USB-C, so this will be an upgrade you will definitely see much faster charging speeds as it can take advantage of 25w samsung super fast charging or iphone 25w fast charging protocols via USB-C

          • @BoomTetrisForJeff: Cheers - it's from 2017, and usb C.
How did you work out 25W and what is the amperage on the one in this deal?

Sounds like a worthwhile upgrade (got an S25U).

            • @G-rig: its advertised as PD 3.0 so it should have the standard voltage/currents for charging protocols up to 36W

              • @BoomTetrisForJeff: yeah that's cool, i assume the old one was around the time of the 18W chargers, which are still alright just not as fast.

  • ordered 1 thanks !

FYI, these cheap chargers do not boost. So you'll probably only get 12V out with the engine running.
And they need higher Vin, like 24V, to get 15V or 20V out for your laptop (if at all).

    • It's 5V - read the specs on Amazon.

And yes, don't bother trying to charge a laptop lol.

      • Dude its going to be more then 5V! Without even mentioned PD specs, The charger at least goes to 9V if it supports quick QC quick charge.

        • Hey dude don't call me dude 😎

          5V output.
Maybe it wouldn't be the first time an Amazon description was incorrect?

I think most people just want to charge their phone in their car, not their laptop

        how about tablets ?

        • Get a good powerbank or plan ahead.
I'm sure it would still charge slowly enough.
How long you driving in the car, new ones would have USB ports.

I find that kids are the ones that use tablets in the car and they usually sit in the back seats
which makes it cumbersome to charge the tablet with the cable and seating position..

Tablets are have longer battery life than phones
and you can bring a powerbank which would be easier to charge the tablet in the back seats..

Adults and the Driver sitting in the front seats are the ones that usually need to charge their phones for GPS/Maps and to make phone calls etc.

      Upvote for awareness.

Yes these only deliver the full power if you have a 24v battery system (which nobody does). Most of the time you will be getting 18w charging. I have a stack of these from Aliexpress that I bought for $3-$4

      • I have a stack of these

        Why so many?

I use them with drill batteries. Turns them into a 20000mah powerbank that can charge in 3 hours. But really it's just cause it was cheap and I was using them to make up the min spend.

I think I had some vague idea of joining a bunch together with a 24v supply to make a superfast charger with 10 usb ports, all for less than $50. Can't remember though

      • is it only electric and hybrid cars that have 24V battery system?

what vehicle or use case scenario are we able to get 24V battery system?

        • Mostly trucks I think. Electric and hybrid still use 12v for instrument cluster, and their driving battery is like 300v

        • Maybe buy a spare car battery and hook it up.

    • But their own specs says it can power a laptop, probably a low power one.

  • Got few of these last time they were on special. Surprisingly good for phone charging, just make sure you have a decent cable to use with it.

    • and a decent phone

  • Got one thanks, will see how it goes.

  • $18.69

  • Weird, I got a notification when someone reported it as expired but not when it was reported as available again.

    • yeah it was showing the high price $18.69, maybe comes back into stock.
Anyway got one cheers, mine is fairly old.
