  I got the R1855DB in the last sale and was pleasantly surprised with the sound, quite happy with mine.

  I do feel like if you get a stereo pair you will be driven towards getting a sub, just keep an eye out for the one you want has a sub out.

    You can MacGuyver a sub-woofer into these but it's not ideal and it uses a few cables and converters.

    I don't have these, I have the Edifier S2000 Pro's, which are like the big daddy to these and they are amazing. I'd imagine that these would be great value and very decent desktop speakers, as most of Edifier's range are good, especially for the price.

    If I were you, at this price, I would definitely go for it 👍 They will almost certainly destroy any Logitech or similar "desk top" brand speaker you would otherwise buy imo.
