And here I thought I was doing well at 4

  • +3

Good price for a decent power bank.

  • Cheers OP ;)

  • +1

aw man. Of course this would be the time I'd be in time to get it, 4 days after I cancelled my amazon prime

    • Lol I had the same experience

    • +21

Probably optimised battery charging on the phones rather than an issue with the powerbanks

      • +2

        Yes, it's an iPhone feature

        • -1

And a Samsung feature as well?

          • +6

@riggit: Pretty much all newer Android phones have some implementation of it.

          • +1

@riggit: Yep, also a Motorola feature too

          • @riggit: Search for a setting called "battery protection".

          • +1

@riggit: Message Amazon and see if they will return your perfectly fine power banks.

        • +1

          And watchOS and macOS feature.

          Strangely, still missing from iPadOS.

      • +6

Exactly, silly users that don't even know basic functions of their iphones complaining 😂.

    • +6

Completely the opposite in my experience. I have flogged 2 of these for the last year and never had an issue. Only charging pixels, with limit to 80% turned off FFS and a Chromebook.

    • +3

It’s a safety feature on your iPhone if you’re heavy usage on it while charging. It’s to prevent overheating and stop continuous charging past 80%

      User error for sure

    • +2

Sounds like phone optimised charging as mentioned above, phone will charge only up to 80% to protect battery

    • The phones only charged to 80%

Users accidentally prioritise longevity over convenience/speed ? https://batteryuniversity.com/article/bu-808-how-to-prolong-…

  • Another one to add to my collection. Thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP, got one.

    • I paid something like that in 2023

    • It got me over the $59 spend threshold since I don't have Prime.

    • Same

    • Can I has your ozbadge?

    • Gone from feeling like I won to feeling like I lost heh

    • You're getting there.
Eventually you will graduate with a full OZB badge.

  • finally got one before expiry :D

  • Expired

  • Try pasting the code in checkout, worked for me right after expiry

    • You put the TG8NDFBP code in the checkout giftcard/promo box?

      • +1

Yeah it worked for me but I was like very close after expiry

I was on the page and clicked redeem and it failed, copied the code, refreshed and the redeem button disappeared, so I just tried adding it in the cart and it worked lol

      • +1

I did as well and it worked for me.

Received mine and very impressed by the packaging and overall feel. Now to test if it actually holds the claimed mAh and output power.

    • +1

First charge overnight, used the same USB-A to lightning cable I use for my bedside charging adapter. I have optimize charging 'on'.
      When checked in the morning;
Bedside adapter charges all the way to 100%, everyday so far without exception.
This had charged only to 80%.

I have noticed the heavily commented and negatively voted thread above. Although I don't mind having 80% charge on an occasion where I don't have access to a wall adapter, is it still a user error as verdict given on that thread? Genuinely interested.

But overall I wouldn't complain about the powerbank. It is good!

Edit: in terms of its rated capacity, very much doubt it is 10000mAh. For the 80% charge of my 80% total capacity iPhone 12 (2815mAh at brand new) the power bank drained 40%
If I'm doing my math right this can't fully charge my iPhone 12 3x times. It won't be even able to charge 3x of 80% of 80% degraded battery of mine lol

      • Noticed under battery charging history - Last charged to 80% - "Charging was on hold for Optimised Battery Charging"
And there goes - perhaps it does only for battery banks - need more tests I reckon!
