  • Mhhhh strange. It double posted so I marked one as expired but now the other one has already been set to duplicate. Please 'unexpire', its still live on their site

    • Hi, I unpublished your double post and unexpired this one. You should be able to remove the expiry yourself by clicking on the red 'EXPIRED' part of the title in future :) Also, mods don't read every comment. You will get our attention by using the 'report' link for a post. Thanks.

  • I would go for a ps3 at this price http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89888.

    • It doesn't record/pause TV tho does it?

      • It does if you buy a playTV (though it's a very basic PVR, it's enough for me)

Yep, only $11 for a playTV. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89574. And ps3 dose heaps more than a BD player.

        • I got one of these for a relative and she is very happy with it. If you are not into gaming then this is a much better choice than a PS3.

        • Where does it say $11 in the link?

  • $229 Free Shipping here - http://www.binglee.com.au/samsung-bd-e8500-3d-blu-ray-player… (also, HN price matched this for me even with no Bing Lee in Tas)

Wonder if I should post it as a new deal?

  • I bought one of these when good guys had them on sale last week for 225, this is an amazing device.
I bought a ps3 on the same day to replace my dead one and the samsung recorder is a lot better (obviously not for games). Play Tv is not great, highly reccomend this product for this price, it was in Harvey Norman for 529 a few weeks ago

  • +1

I have one, Purchased from HN a few months ago paid $310, i don't think this model was ever $529 at HN. the Samsung BD-E8900A might of been. Better Unit than the LG, and Panasonic which i tested first, Make sure you update to the latest firmware, or you will be forever resetting the unit because it's locked up. The UI is average to say the least and can be cumbersome (to many button presses) to do simple tasks like erasing a stored TV program navigating etc, the Freeview guide can take a while to come up with the program info, a wireless mouse and keyboard is a must if you wish to use its in built web browser. No Region free which is also a pain. Unless someone knows how to unlock it?

  • Hi Guys, thanks for posting this - it's a very popular product! I just wanted to let everybody know that this deal will expire 3pm today in case some of you haven't decided yet :-)

    • Just as an FYI, we've just received delivery of Factory 2nd BDE8500, they are selling for $210 and have a 1 year warranty just like a new one.
