$12.50 Standard / $27.50 LUX Movie Tickets (+ Online Booking Fee) @ Hoyts

1890

Hey everyone, this is my first post on OzBargain, so go easy on me!

HOYTS is offering $12.50 standard movie tickets and $27.50 HOYTS LUX tickets through a generic link, and the best part is you don’t need an Uber One membership to access it. Just click the link, choose your session, and the discounted price will apply automatically.

This appears to be an extension of the long-running Uber One HOYTS deal, just that anyone can use it. Pricing is $12.50 for standard tickets and $27.50 for LUX, with usual surcharges for Xtremescreen, 3D, and other premium formats.

How to Get the Deal:
  1. Click on the generic link
  2. Select your cinema and session
  3. The discounted price should apply automatically

Can I book my tickets at the ticket counter in a HOYTS cinema?

Ticket fulfilment will be available at the ticket counter in HOYTS cinemas. Eligible Uber One members must use the in-cinema ‘Partner Booking Code’ which will appear on the movie times digital screen and then use their own device (e.g. smartphone) to navigate to the Uber One x HOYTS offer page, once ready and follow the link to the Offer ticketing website. By using the in-cinema code, the booking fee will not apply.

Subscribed, but I just wanted to mention that the generic link is still easier for most people. The UberOne deal requires a few more steps, while with the generic link, you can simply click and get the discounted tickets without any extra hassle. Appreciate you sharing that though!

HOYTS is offering $12.50 standard movie tickets

Last time I went to the movies that was the normal non-discounted non-cheap-Tuesday non-student price.

ANZ circle $12 for adults, no restrictions. Just need to pay using ANZ cards.

I wouldn't be surprised they didn't bother with securing links to members only on purpose, given the state of movie theatres and how they're not getting enough patrons (except blockbusters). Hoyts would have had to okayed this.

This should be the standard everyday price.

    Thanks OP! Very useful indeed.

Sick can't wait to watch the woke version of Snow White

It's hilarious how American republicans take AAVE words and destroy them. That is not how the original word is used, but im glad to see you trying to expand your vocab to be funny.

You know what he means, and he knows what you mean. Seems like words are doing exactly what they're supposed to do here.

        • I don't know what he means, which is why I commented. You can scroll on if you disapprove of my response. :)

    • Yikes. There's more wrong with the world than a "woke" movie.

Sure, but why make things worse if you don't need to?

  • 50c cheaper than Cheap Tuesday and for me no movies worth watching so I’ll pass

I refuse to buy movie tickets until they stop charging that ridiculous online booking fee. I’m not paying extra just to click a button, I’ll happily spend that money on overpriced popcorn instead!

Go to the cinema, use the in-cinema code at checkout to save on the booking fee.

    • Don't book in advance. Buy at the cinema.

  • Student Edge discount is my preferred one. $12.50 Monday to Friday, and there's an 'in-cinema code' you can enter to buy tickets online in the cinema without having to pay the online fee (it's a 6-digit code displayed on the session time screens in the cinema).

    • this is the same price, except every day i.e. includes weekend as well

spending money to watch hollywood reheat leftovers? couldn't be me

  • Yes it is still working.. better to stack up with “joining uber one for 4 months free” via hoyts rewards and then book your tickets.
Xtremescreen is for 17.50 each. Better to go ahead with ANZ card deal mentioned in comments above (Xtremescreen for $17 each)

REMINDER: Do not go ahead with shopback/gift vouchers unless they are more than 50% off full ticket price.

  • Can the people that still go to the cinema explain that to me?

I'd pay money not to have to leave the house to watch a movie with strangers who don't know how to shut the hell up.

  • Can someone help me to find out the "In cinema code". I am not able to find in Cinema section in the website.

    • It's shown on the session time screen at the cinema and I think it changes every X amount of time so to avoid the booking fee you have to actually go there to buy the ticket(s).

It's a bit like those 2FA or verification codes when you login to things that rotate every 30 seconds.

      • Don't think all cinemas have those screens? I went to one last week and asked for the code, the guy at the counter just manually applied the discount for me so only paid $12 per ticket in the end.

        • what cinema doesn't have a screen displaying session times?

    • why would an "in cinema code" be in the website?
