NieR:Automata is also $15.58, might be time to buy the NieR games now!

    God I love 2B

Then Nier Automata is the game for you. This is a different game.

  • Which game is better between Nier: Automata and Nier: Replicant?

    • +2

Depends what you like, they are similar in their mechanics, although Automata is more modern and feel smoother in it gameplay, and is probably more fun for combat.
I would suggest Automata to get you into the series, then I feel you would want to play Replicant if you like it anyway.
Although lore wise, it would go Replicant then Automata. So if you are big into story and don’t want any sort of spoilers for Replicant, then play Replicant first. (Although it doesn't spoil too much in my opinion anyway).
Just be prepared to have an existential crisis when you finish each game.

Replicant is insanely repetitive in the beginning, its honestly boring me. This is coming from an fan of Automata.

I love the game, but agree with you, I suspect it's actually pretty much a troll on the part of Yoko Taro. You have to be really on the ball to not miss anything by the checkpoint as well, which makes it even worse.

Currently slogging through the third playthrough to get ending C/D and I have to agree with you. The only thing keeping me interested is having the main characters in Yorha outfits and the soundtrack replaced with the Automata music.

    • Automata.

I played them in reverse. Replicant was rebuilt with the mechanics of automata.

Automata is by far one of the best games I have ever played. It (profanity) me up to the point I didnt play for a few weeks because it had such a heavy plot twist.

I gave up on getting the lunar tear lmao

  • Do you want a story about hot androids that will make you cry? No? Yes you do.

  • 2B, A2, or Kaine for waifu?

  • Having played through Nier Gestalt, I find it odd to come back to this and play through the same game with a younger protagonist.

    Also, no one stops >:|

  • Great game. Don't expect a refined AAA game but its got great story telling and some of the best voice acting work in any game.

  • Personally I didn't really enjoy the gameplay of Automata and find it a bit slow / repetitive even though the underlying story / narrative was interesting. But the soundtrack for both this and Automata is top notch, still listen to it today.

If there is a bug can you update to v1.22474487140 or are you stuck on v1.22474487139?

    • +1

im pretty sure thats the title of the game and not the version number of the game

      • +2

It's the square root of 1.5 which is kinda the game number. So it's half way to a full remake, but the square root bit is just being clever.

Probably my favourite game of all time! Too bad I already have it on Xbox, PC and switch.

Cheaper than usual sure, but was this exact price on steam in may 2023. Not too great of a deal imo
