    Oos??

    OOS. Damn missed out

  • Is 650 Joules of Surge Protection a bit low ?

    • +3

It's on the average-to-higher end for most consumer surge protected power boards.

Belkin's latest model 8-outlet board offers 900J of protection which is pretty good.

You can get much higher levels of protection (there was one specific somewhat obscure brand that offers this, I can't recall what it was) but it's pretty rare.

On the other hand, there's quite a few cheap HPM and other brand boards which have pitiful amounts of protection, 150-175J or less, which is pretty pointless.

Crest Platinum 6 socket is the highest I've seen at 3600J. Available at the likes of JB and is an Aussie company.

Damn already in the cart when OOS :(

Would of been a winner if it was USB-C and better surge protection!

Dang this sold fast. Got the notification email from 3xcamels at 8:09 pm, at which point the deal was 44% claimed. And then it was sold out by 8:36 pm.

  • Does my safety switch protect my PC and other household items, in a better fashion?

    • +7

No, rcds are for protecting people. If you want protection of all the appliances in your home, a licensed electrician can install a surge arrestor which will surge protect all the power outlets in your home with one piece of equipment in your switchboard.

i was 2nd guessing myself, and bought one. then i went back to this page and out of stock. that was instantly gone.
now im glad i pulled the trigger and bought it.

  • Damn, good deal.

  • This Belkin power board and the Cyberpower ‎CPSURGE08USB-ANZ are both based upon the old surge protection standard. later this year they will be illegal to sell and this is why they are available for such a good price.

    • +6

What exactly is the difference between the old and new standards?

    • I have over 15 of both in my house, oh no…

    • +1

Is there a reference to see what the current standards are and how they differ to these ones?

    • Got alot of Cyberpower ‎CPSURGE08USB-ANZ they are great powerboards never had a failure.

Also would be good to find out what new standard is coming out to make them not good?

(Eg. As 4DealDive mentioned any refrence to the new requirements)

  • Very big but good price.

  • Got mine today.
It just came in the product box, no interior packaging or even a plastic bag around the powerboard.
It also has a high pitch buzz which is quite irritating.
Anyone else's like this? I suspect mine might have been a returned unit
