What's happening with them…
I would find it impressive if they were able to create a vulnerability in an unmanaged network switch.

Just in the media about the TP Link Security Threats. A quick google will show you heaps of results.

There isn't a vulnerability about the unmanaged stuff, but people seem to comment on anything TP Link related and mention the security concern. A bit like anything Elon related now seems to cop negativity.
the same kind of effect as with Eufy stuff?
and the "rice sized" comms chip that Bloomberg said was in every SuperMicro server mainboard. But no one has ever found one.
i just had a google around for tp-link security stuff. had to laugh at the americans saying they'll never buy tp-link because of their government. i guess forgetting that Cisco have had actual supply-chain hardware tinkering and all sorts of other vulnerabilities.
5-port OOS, just like last time. Been waiting for it to come back in but still hasn't.
That's strange - it's showing stock for me.
You must be in a regional/remote area for Delivery. I get that to in VIC 3820.
I just updated all the links in this deal to force Amazon to show you the Amazon AU listing. Do you see the following message when opening the updated link?
This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location.
Thankyou! It now says it can't be shipped to my location. Total bummer!
extra 5% off I think for getting over $40 with 3 x 8 port. $35.34 when I ordered them just now.
Oh nice! I'll change title and description.
This could be a good partner to my Beryl AX
These newer models are better than the old curved ones because they run at 5v - so you can jury-rig a USB to barrel jack connector and run it off your nearest USB port instead of another power adapter.
I don't need another one…. I don't need another one….
Yeah I added USB ports to mine.
You can run the 9V or 12V models from USB if power draw is low:

Honestly I did already try - they're extremely tolerant of higher voltages (one is currently running off a 12v splitter instead of 9v) but alas, there's just not enough volts at 5v to get the ports to connect.
I could probably buy a USB to 9v boost converter, or modify the internal TPlink voltage regulator, but it'll certainly be more than $19 of effort to just go buy another switch instead (and these new ones are a nice square shape, handy for mounting too)
The USB to 5.5mm cables with boost are only $3. But might not provide enough current.
And standby for the TP Link Security Comment……
