MSI Prestige 16" Ultra 9 288V 32GB RAM 2TB Storage OLED $2597 + Delivery ($0 to Metro/ OnePass/ C&C) @ Officeworks Online Only

100

I think this must be a pricing error. The Ultra 7 is $2997, and it's a fantastic deal for a large screen but lightweight high powered laptop.

The 1TB storage equivalent is $3369 at Big W so I'm guessing someone at Officeworks typed a 2 instead of a 3 when they entered the price.

Same model at Scorptec $3599 - https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/laptops-&-notebooks/lapt…

Oh how I wish this had a touchscreen. I'd have purchased it immediately if it was.

    Cinebench R23 (Multi-Core)
    Ryzen AI 9 HX 370: 40,000 points
    Core Ultra 9 288V: 19,800 points
Good find and quite tempting given the specs, probably should wait for the ai hx stuff to go on sale.

wow AI 9 HX 370 is double Ultra 9 288V

Intel has really shit the bed. They must be offering OEM's huge discounts to stay on team blue.

    • Intel has half the cores/threads… four P and four E and no SMT.

The AMD is 4 big Zen cores and 8 small Zen cores. All SMT.

What is the single core bench?

Lunar Lake is perfect for casual use.

      • 288v overpriced for what it is. If you really wanted to go the Intel route, rather save money and get a 256v or 268v. Rather get a Ryzen CPU for overall performance for a similar price point in addition to having a faster AI NPU.

happy with mine now but at release was very buggy

  • thought this may be a different variation? this one uses Intel Arc graphics processor.

  • Intel arc, not sure how good this one will be for gaming.
I don't know if intel improved compatibility since I last looked tho.

  • How much is this normally?

  • +2

$2500 and no dedicated Graphics Card.

Big difference between a standard dGPU laptop and an energy efficient 16" screen 1.5kg laptop with OLED. Like a gaming laptop vs Ultrabook.

  • So this is a great deal?

I duno why i bought it but i did. Im a sucker for bargains

How about this as a comparison?

      Good deal for sure.

      For
      - faster multicore CPU
      - Reasonable dGPU
      - Significantly faster GPU
      - 165Hz vs 120Hz

      Against
      - 9Wh smaller batter
      - Battery life not even mentioned (vs 25h claimed max)
      - 700g heavier
      - 6mm thicker
      - IPS instead of OLED display
      - 50% less storage
      - 7500 vs 8553 RAM speed
      - assembled vs injection moulded chassis

      • Also wifi 7 verus wifi 6.
For me I don't need portability or battery life, so the dGPU would be better.

    • And bet Asus build quality better than MSI?
